Guys, here the same situation. Do you have another way to contact?. I see the registrar information but is private. Thanks.

Posted by Beauty1on1, 03-02-2007, 12:47 PM
Nope,Theres no other way to contact them.

I write directly to the datacenter, if they can send other way of contact or more information. Please, if your sites are online again or have a new info, post this topic. Regards,

The datacenter is not listed,So..theres no way we can do that.

Posted by HNLV, 03-02-2007, 06:35 PM
Their datacenter is LayeredTech www.layeredtech.com http://whois.domaintools.com/gigalots.com

Posted by tRiTiO, 03-02-2007, 08:43 PM
Yes, the IP's of Gigalots are hosted in layeredtech. I write to Layeredtech, but they can't share any type of information: "Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any information to you regarding one of our customers..." I really worried about this. Please, if you have any news post here. I need to know to transfer all users to other site. Thanks.

Gigalots is gone. I visited their Forum and saw their last Post on 15 Feb. They said they were going to announce a new 20-20 special on 20 Feb. I have been waited for an email reply sine 20 Feb, cause I wanted to sign up. Guess being too late to signup can be a good thing. No such thing as 50 Gb - 500.000 Mb plans for $5 a month.

so what you're saying is that they abandoned their customers?how did you visit their forums when their site is gone? Last edited by Beauty1on1; 03-03-2007 at 11:38 AM.

According to WebHostics profile: Last Activity: Yesterday 10:27 PM Has anyone tried PM'ing him for more information?

Posted by Beauty1on1, 03-03-2007, 11:38 AM
I PMed them,Hopefully they'll reply.

my guess is they sold a few accounts at $5/month, realized they were going to make a loss and git out quick. alternatively they sold enough accounts to buy a PS2, a couple of iPods and some other toys and then got out quick. i would love one of them to reply and prove the above incorrect. someone should devise an "unofficial regulation" system to protect against the inexhaustible supply of hosting scammers.

dang,I've been scammed two times in a row...I feel like giving up.

well, my only advice is never pay annually in advance so your maximum exposure is just a monthj. and know how to quickly get your accounts across to a new host if\ you get proiblems! the "you get what you pay for" you often see on this forum is to an extent true but not the general rule; I have a reseller package I got from QuickPacket a coiuple of years ago ("unlimited" disk space, 50Gb bandwidth and dedicated IP for $5/month which has only ever had one downtime in that time and support is always 10 - 20 minutes or less. I happened to visit their Site and Forums up to the day before they were gone. Came back one day later, and site was gone. I was looking for a suitable host service. Last edited by ivanhoe; 03-05-2007 at 10:59 AM.
