1and1, anyone else getting 404s??

Posted by Exempt, 03-16-2007, 02:26 PM
I have 3 domains with 1and1 and for the passed 3 days all of them are having on and off 404 errors... Sometimes the sites work, but most of the time they do not... I also tried a friend of mines site which is hosted on 1and1 and they also have the same intermittant 404 error... Just wondering if anyone knows what the deal is? I tried tech support, but they gave me the run around saying they were "running a fix on it" but it didnt work so they informed the admins of the problem... I really need to get my site back up and running, ppl are asking me why I closed the site down when I didnt...

Yes, same here! I want to kill them! My sites have been down for the past 3 days. Starting sunday noon. I called their supports several times and the evertime, i get a diffrent answer. On my last call, they told me their servers are under going an upgrade. So, im hopping everything will be back and running smoothly by later today. One last word, THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE LEVEL 1 TECH SUPPORTS. Most of them seem to know abst. nothing. Other than that, they're *** kicking awesome.

Well my host was 1and1 aswell... But since Ive posted this and with no answer from them, I have switched to Total Choice Hosting, and keeping the domains on 1and1, and so far, no problems... I plan to switch over to TCH at the end of my billing period on the domains (Jan and March of next year)... But yea, other than this one MAGOR problem I have had no issues with them... But I just couldnt take it any longer... I had my members asking me why I closed the site and what not... But like you Dave, I kept hoping it would be fine later that die... It would work, and then before I knew it, back comes the 404 error... So I had to act quickly...

I had 4 sites hosted there for a couple of years. Always very slow and their control panel was ludicrous. Finally last January I "Got out of Dodge".... er.... Germany and moved all to another host. Life is finally good again!

I have the same exact issues... My ASP.Net sites have been down since March 2nd. I wish I would of read all of the negative posts about 1and1 prior, to running into these issues. All that I've heard is that they are working on the issue. However, it's going on 4 weeks. By this point they could of had the servers rebuilt and up and running.

How much traffic does your site get? Apparently for me, I was because I was consuming too much . In other words, I was the #1 consumer <_<
