Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 12:08 AM

Just got a couple calls. Something is def wrong.

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 12:34 AM
any new? anyoene called them? Almost one hour down.

Posted by Chainhost-General, 08-02-2007, 12:37 AM
:-( this is how you say NOT good. I'd put a ticket in but wait I can't :-p

Posted by cstdenis, 08-02-2007, 12:37 AM
I haven't called them (I don't have their number since their site is down, plus its expensive long distance). But this doesn't encourage me that it'll help. They have been pretty good for a while with the one server I left with them. Hope this isn't as bad as their last downtime -- it was like a full day.

Posted by Platypus101, 08-02-2007, 12:40 AM
I'm just psychic

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:41 AM
Anyone got their number? I'll call!

Posted by Datacenter1, 08-02-2007, 12:44 AM
Here is +18665104000

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:46 AM
It's ringing...

Posted by RyanD, 08-02-2007, 12:47 AM
yup, the *1* remaining server we have at Sago is offline... fantastic

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:48 AM
Apparently I'm caller number 2 waiting to speak to someone, and the estimated wait time is 2 minutes...

Posted by cstdenis, 08-02-2007, 12:49 AM
[Edit: Nevermind disregard this]

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:50 AM
Is anyone else here on hold?

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:53 AM
Got a pretty generic answer. 'The technicians are working on it as fast as possible - it's not the power / boxes, maybe network, maybe outside loop' (which means nothing to me).. does that mean anything to anyone?

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 12:53 AM
one server is up, and i just can access the other box from the server i have up there. from the outside i cant. regarding the phone i will try to call them either.

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:54 AM
can you ping 65.110.61.190 for me from inside their network? lemme know if it's still up?

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 12:55 AM
lol @ great

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 12:57 AM
root@lab [/var/log]# ping 65.110.61.190 PING 65.110.61.190 (65.110.61.190) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 65.110.61.190: icmp_seq=0 ttl=63 time=1.49 ms 64 bytes from 65.110.61.190: icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=0.304 ms 64 bytes from 65.110.61.190: icmp_seq=2 ttl=63 time=0.312 ms yes its up, but just can access from a box inside their network.

Posted by cstdenis, 08-02-2007, 12:57 AM
My tracert definitely shows a routing loop, I don't think its anything but a gateway or backbone problem.

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 12:59 AM
Well I wish they'd bloody hurry up and fix it then.

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 01:05 AM
Thanks Phactor. Helps relieve my stress a bit.

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 01:09 AM
no problem m8. I just send a reboot ticket before i noticed it was a network issue. hope they dont reboot the server, lol.

Posted by Chainhost-General, 08-02-2007, 01:11 AM
Should have known after I got the first email something was up thankfully there is only that one box there or I'd be steaming mad.

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 01:17 AM
I did the same thing (request reboot). Oh well. I doubt they'll actually get to it! John

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 01:20 AM
well.. i will sleep since its not a server issue, and i cant fix it. I'm up since 4:30 because of this and its 6:20. Almost two hours down. just great.

Posted by ozimac_au, 08-02-2007, 01:21 AM
Yep - ditto. No sense staying up if the box is ok and it's just the network.

Posted by Chainhost-General, 08-02-2007, 01:21 AM
Sago happens :-p lol

My sites are back, but the one with a forum has a MySQL error

Posted by cstdenis, 08-02-2007, 02:38 AM
Sounds like a power problem. I dont like the sound of that. Fortunately, I'm back up (65.110.52.x) and all is well with power: up 143 days, 13:26

Posted by phactor, 08-02-2007, 07:34 AM
it was a power issue, as i had 414 days of uptime, and now 5 hours. what happened after all?

Posted by Sekweta, 08-02-2007, 09:15 AM
Maybe the power issue was limited to one of their colo rooms. I believe DC1 houses their network gear and dedicated servers. DC2 is colo. We have some equipment colo'd in DC2, and our uptime shows no power loss. But, we DID see a loss of connectivity between 11:30pm and 2:00am. I wonder if DC1 lost power. That could explain dedicated servers being rebooted and loss of network connectivity if their routers lost power.

Posted by Sago-MikeK, 08-02-2007, 09:38 AM
Phactor, your server was rebooted because you asked for a server reboot at just about the same time the problem started. There was no power issue, there was some kind of issue on the core. We're still looking into what exactly the problem was. Keep an eye on the Network Status page here: http://www.sagonet.com/network-status.html We'll post the explanation up there.
