Dstinternet.com now Server have been down about last 27hrs until now... Can you all connect to Dstinternet.com I really feel bad about Dstinternet.com can you all connect to dstinternet.com website ? or anyone use dstinernet service ? and get this problem like me ?

Posted by 040Hosting, 11-11-2007, 04:03 PM
You are not the only one not being able to reach them;

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-11-2007, 04:07 PM
I actually used their reseller service for a friends domains as he wanted seperate panels, hated cPanel, and had a tight budget. To this day, the server has been down for a over week with 3 tickets into support with no response. But, if you haven't noticed, edatarack.com and dstinternet.com are the same company under different names. They both have undeniably terrible reputations. eDatarack was rated one of the worst host at webhostingunleashed.com http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/h...orst-hosts.php

Down for me, too. Looks like that incredibly cheap SAN that Rich claimed they owned in this thread was a great example of "you get what you pay for". http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=588257

Thank you very much to 040hosting,Coldy salter,Mike V I am a reseller at dstinternet.com too. and not me get this problem only but my clients get this situation as well I don't know how to do next.. because my clients need to back up everything about database and all file... or dstinternet is gone ?

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-11-2007, 04:45 PM
I don't know if they are "gone" but I think they might appear again under a new name as before. If you need some help transferring some domains to a new server, let me know if I can be of help.

Posted by 040Hosting, 11-11-2007, 05:08 PM
I'am not sure you are allowed to offer this here.. see the forum rules.

Posted by onestep, 11-11-2007, 07:09 PM
I sincerely hope that THEY DO Comeback. I made the foolish mistake of keeping all of my website backed up on their server, and don't have a recent local copy, and I am now paying the price. I'll be happy if they come back for a day... I just need to get mysql data & stuff and I'll be ready to move on. I can't believe they haven't sent out notification emails or anything. Are they under attack or have they closed up shop? I've been using them since March for a VPS, and this is the first time I've had an outage this long. Overnight, yes... 2 days+... now I'm worried. Best, Jonathan

Posted by gordyville, 11-11-2007, 07:34 PM
I am also freaking out. My website is down. Their website is down. their phone number is not in service. Traceroute to a few of their IPs dies somewhere around dallas1.level3.net. As a matter of fact, I can't even reach level3.net. This has been going on since 3pm EST yesterday. This is complete nonsense and somebody needs an ***-kicking.

Posted by onestep, 11-11-2007, 08:12 PM
I have my fingers crossed that this will be back up and running monday. I am praying it is... literally! Once it is, I am backing up, migrating to a legitimate host, and then I am outta here. I don't care what their reasons are ... even if it's a denial of service, I am done. Lack of communication or ability to reach them is unacceptable.

Posted by bloodsucker, 11-11-2007, 11:19 PM
Thanks onestep, gordyville you are the same situation like me Lasttime you know Databases were down 1.5 day and now i don't think its almost 2 day already..still down until now. I don't know what are they doing right now.. Just need to back up that's all ME too... their phone number is not in service i tried to call them several time i hope they do come back as you wish as well Thank's All Friend who get the same situation

Who can go to their address and talk with them?

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 04:47 AM
Useless company. Scammer. Cheater. Their site is down for last 72 hrs with out notice. Check : http://www.dstinternet.com/ My all sites hosted on their server are down check www.celebritywallpaper.in for last 72 hrs. No customer support. No notice before going off line. I assume they have closed their company. Most idiotic service I ahve ever seen. After I purchased a VPS package they reduced their VPS cost on their site from 49.95 to 45.95 but when I asked them to bill new charge they even didn't responded. They are not honest and I have came here with proff. My sites were making $50 per day but for 3 days downtime lost $150 already. Many times in past saw many downtime but when I asked them they said every thing is ok from their end. Never buy any package from them. Go to any large company but never ever go to any small scale hosting company. I am sufferer so it's paining me because transferring a site which has 10 Gig of data to another server is a pain.

It should be pointed out that not all hosting companies are bad. You are just unlucky to have found a bad one.

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 05:54 AM
I don't have any intention to hurt any body who are doing small busness in hosting... but it was my worst experience. Sorry guys if I unwantedly hurt any one.

Had a backup?

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 08:33 AM
I have backup but again uploading to another server is much pain, but planning to do right now.

Posted by onestep, 11-12-2007, 09:24 AM
I can't believe that they just shut down. Un freakin believable. I was using their server to keep my backups on, and never had any idea that they would be scammers. I knew support wasn't good.. but scammers??? Ugh.

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 09:29 AM
Yes check just 2 days back they have updated whois info... so they know what exactly they are doing. Otherwise some of them come here and and say some thing about their problem.

Posted by gordyville, 11-12-2007, 10:58 AM
when I first signed up with these people in april, the first welcome email I got was from a Sean Shehan. A google search on him turned up some interesting reads. Apparently this guy is a scammer from hell, dating back as far as 2002. Anybody know anything about him?

Posted by vipulpatel, 11-12-2007, 02:04 PM
its almost been 45 hours now. This is crazy. They have just disappeared from the face of the internet. They were linked via cogent.. I wonder if there is a way to find out some details through cogent. I have lost important data if they have shutdown and customers are going to kill me. It cant be a coincidence that the entire network is down & the phone lines say temporarily down. I wonder how many people have hosted with them. Im devastated. I wonder is websites like ic3.gov can help

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 02:09 PM
I have just filed a complain at : https://complaint.ic3.gov/Default.aspx. You people also do same against Shawn Shehan and dstinternet. against them. Let's chase those bas___rd.

Observe some thing... From last 3 days seeing page not found 404 error. But now when I opened www.dstinternet.com found internal server error 500. Check it ... might be some thing happening there.

Kausik I wonder how you are getting these errors. Their server is not resolving since 48 hours.. how are you even getting that error?

Posted by kausik, 11-12-2007, 03:12 PM
Yes I check traceroute and found bad ip address. But it gave me internal server error in IE. Strange. Have you contcated eDataRack.com ?

Posted by vipulpatel, 11-12-2007, 03:29 PM
i dont think there is any point now. if they cared.. they would have done the needful. Its going to be a tough day tommorrow.

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-12-2007, 03:57 PM
Im am on Live Chat with eDataRack now. The chat OP denies any connection to DSTInternet.com which I knew would happen, not to mention they are both horror stories in terms of support and service, look at their reviews, it's a nightmare company. I told her that DSTInternet must have copied the TOS, Privacy Policy, Service Guarantee, Company Info page, and not to mention the affiliate ID of the Template Monster banner belonging to eDataRack.... They are a mess. Strange also, the last week and a day that my friends servers were down, we could still get into plesk, which then we transfered the domains over immediately. Luckily, only 2 sites were left behind when it fully shut down. Which they weren't even used so it wasn't a big issue. We couldn't make backups in Plesk either without getting an error, and we couldn't export out of PHPMYADMIN without it giving an error.

Posted by vipulpatel, 11-12-2007, 04:10 PM
Youre lucky that you got a hint at the right time and you tranferred your data. I Unfortunately am in a soup. One can think that the server may crash. In that event the hosting company in worst situations do restore a week old data. But one cant image that the company would disappear. I knew one would get that response from the other hosting company owned by the same guy. Check out their contact details.. its worst than what dst had on its website. this one has only PO Box.

Posted by gordyville, 11-12-2007, 04:25 PM
I received emails from eDataRack's President David Allen (If that is indeed his real name...) denying any knowledge of DSTinternet or InteliChoice. Naturally. Of course, I find it strange that dnsmark.net and dnsmarker.net are so similar, as is DST and eDataRack's websites. You may also find it amusing that 1301 E Debbie Lane Suites 102-119 (DST's administrative contact) seem to cover various businesses like starbucks, a nail salon, a dentist, etc. I tried emailing the colo facility in Dallas but they are no help either.

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-12-2007, 04:26 PM
Well, apparently Sean Shehan doesn't exist, which is a good thing, because I would probably get very physical with him. Live Chat claims that he isn't the owner of eDataRack. So mixed stories should say something. Believe me, I will not stop digging, this is unacceptable business practice.

Posted by gordyville, 11-12-2007, 04:30 PM
Cody, I received this in my email with eDataRack's "president": Hi, We bought certain assets of eDataRack from Sean about a year ago. I am not familiar with dstinternet or InteliChoisce. How did you get to us or find Salim's address as that may help us figure this out? David Allen

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-12-2007, 05:02 PM
So that could mean that Sean still is the owner of DSTInternet and could have just sold eDataRack... One LiveChat OP stated that Sean is away and can't be reached at this time... It seems there is a trail, but I don't know how much I would trust even David. Being that there is a mass of bad reviews and experiences with eDataRack its hard to know who to believe. Anyways, I am emailing him now and I will update you soon.

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-12-2007, 05:43 PM

I wonder if their data center would have backups - I am happy to pay to get mine. Luckily I moved most of my domains over the last couple of months but I had 3 left which I would like to recover.

Posted by onestep, 11-12-2007, 10:36 PM
This is a crummy nightmare for me. Just LUCKILY I had a backup of one of the sites I hosted, and was able to move it over to a wordpress host. However, my big drupal Mac tutorial site, thinkmac.net, which gets 5,000 pageviews a day is not backed up currently. I had been making some backups on the server level, never imagining they would go out of business. I had the same issues with PLESK VPS as well, and that's why I was so lazy about the backups, because whenever I tried to do anything taxing, plesk would throw out an Service Unavailable error. THe last backup of my SQL I have locally is in August, so I have effectively lost 200 hours of content work. This REALLY SUCKS! Somebody needs to write into the Consumerist.com and tell the stories..... Now I just need to pickup the pieces, and use a better host, migrate what I have, and try and to keep from losing all of that traffic and google juice. Ugh...

Hello Some thing intresting here check these links and check website preview http://www.aboutus.org/Dstinternet.com http://whois.domaintools.com/topspeedweb.com both websites looks same is it same template or run by same person?

Posted by onestep, 11-13-2007, 08:31 AM
I imagine it's both. Especially since they are both shut down.

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-13-2007, 05:38 PM

We have had several inquiries regarding this issue. Unfortunately we are unable to release any information on current or former customers.

Posted by onestep, 11-13-2007, 08:25 PM
Is there nothing you can do to help us get our data from the server? I just need my SQL database and I will be golden.... I am missing 3 months worth of data from my last dump. I was on https://72.249.63.172 VPS. If they have abandoned us, you guys should be able to help assist, shouldn't you?

Posted by bloodsucker, 11-14-2007, 03:18 AM
Colo4-Paul Please help us if you are the same situation as we all got it you will understand what we have been waiting You know All of them still wait... Just want and need to back up that's all We all request https://72.249.63.84:8443

Posted by pvanmeter, 11-14-2007, 09:28 AM
We do not have access to the data. If the company wont respond to you the only choice is to move on. I hate to see people do this to their customers, but it is done. Your only choice is to spend your time focusing on rebuilding.

Hi Guys, I'm a brand new member in this forum... I'm a dstinternet custumer ( ) and I got a problem with my domain w w w.beltranart. c o m 'cause it is locked Somebody know how to unlock and transfer it.. I do not want to lose my domain name but i don't enough experience in this business to solve my situation dstinternet is a pretty bad hosting company, now they're out of business, I don't have any answer from them and I don't know what to do. please any step by step guide is a excellent help for my..thanks a lot

Posted by Cody Salter, 11-20-2007, 04:12 PM
They register it in their name so there isn't much you can do until either they unlock it, or you wait until it expires and is available. A classic reason not to register your domain names with your hosting company unless you are sure that they will transfer your domain, register it in your name, or give you reason to believe that they will not go out of business in the time your domain is with them.

I'm very sorry to do this. But this thing says I need 5 posts...

it will be appreciated by everyone who has been screwed by DST Internet. OK, here goes: I hope it will let me post it now....

Posted by OfficerThornton, 11-22-2007, 12:59 AM
Oh well, I have really good information, but this stupid forum keeps saying I need to have 5 posts before I can use V8-somethingoranother or linking URLs so I can't post what I wrote... f-it.

Posted by OfficerThornton, 11-22-2007, 03:36 PM
I did a whois on your domain and you are listed as the administrative contact. Therefore you should be able to contact the company "Enom" and they will either unlock it for you or direct you to a reseller who will unlock it for you. DST Internet never put my name into the whois information, so mine is truly locked. I didn't even know whois information existed at the time, this is a hell of a way to learn...

Posted by orsy, 11-28-2007, 03:55 PM
thanks a lot for you help...I doing that in this moment.
