Does the website's hosted on the server work when you connect to them via a proxy?
For example, to to Proxify.com and try going to the relevant websites.

I had the public interface on one of my 3 servers in DFW go down.
Opened a ticket, after their techs made things worse by taking the private interface down at the server level (GAH), I got a reply back from them that they had to push a new config to the switch to get the node back up again.
Third time they have had this issue on one of my servers, where pushing a new config to the switch 'fixed' it.. I'll be pestering them a bit more for a real root cause analysis this time.

Nah, sounds like you were also behind a switch that had issues.

This isn't softlayer's helpdesk. If you are having a problem with your server the first thing to do is contact them. Everytime your server has a problem shouldn't result in a thread.
No one but softlayer can tell you what has caused this downtime for you. Sorry, I do wish you luck with it.
