Servertag offline?

Posted by Mekhu, 05-04-2008, 11:23 AM
Hey guys, I hate to go starting threads like these but does anyone have issues with their ServerTag servers at the moment? We had our only Server Tag machine go down yesterday around 3pm EST and it's still offline right now. I submitted a ticket last night around midnight EST and still no response.

Have you tried calling them?

Posted by Mekhu, 05-04-2008, 01:22 PM
Yeah, I'll give it ago again in a couple of minutes. lol, time for me to refund some clients. Hopefully Dan is okay and can have this resolved by tonight.

Did you get this resolved? My dedicated box at ServerTag is down right now also.

Posted by Mekhu, 05-04-2008, 06:27 PM
Nope. Still nothing. Although, I haven't sent in another phone call yet. I will do that shortly. So far we've simply moved 70% of the clients to our server with another Toronto Provider. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Just called the number on the ServerTag website and was redirected to Dan's cell it seems. No more mailbox room unfortunately. Maybe we're not the only two offline!?

Hmm, Well I would appreciate it if you could update this thread if you hear anything. I've never had a ticket go unanswered for this long. I know their shared server is up still, as I have some sites on there.

lol, wow. Isn't it amazing that no matter how good a host has been in the past, it means abolutely NOTHING after 2 days of downtime? The only & last response I received from ServerTag was at 4am this morning (5 hours ago) that said: Looks to me like Dan either hired a new staff member or has some outsourced support going on. Either way, our company is no longer a client of ServerTag from this moment forward. To anyone that's curious, we've been with www.upscalehost.com for over 6 months now and we'll continue to do Toronto Ontario sales through this company.

None of upscalehosts' server order links work it seems. Should note that to them.

hehe, seems like a dark cloud is rolling over Toronto this weekend

Is this since the change in owners? I know a while back the original owner closed up shop and went to work for a DC in Montreal, which resulted in clients machines just being shut off without notice. I'm always looking for other locations to colo kit in Ontario but those sort of actions makes you think twice Edit: Mekhu, HashpipeK, what are your server IPs with ServerTag?

Posted by HashPipeK, 05-05-2008, 04:04 PM
I PMd my IPs to you.

Can I play my WTF card yet?

Sorry for the inconvenience folks. We have disabled all order links on our website since we're reaching capacity at our 151 Front Street facility. However we are negotiating with another datacenter in Mississauga (Capris Group) and once done we will re-activate the order links on our website. For those interested in either co-locating or dedicated servers please do email sales@upscalehost.com or ebrocke@upscalehost.com with your requirements and we will give you a pre-launch special. Thank you for your understanding.

Yea this is REALLY concerning. I am going to try to squeeze the ticket for some more info. Are we the only two down that you know of?

Posted by Mekhu, 05-05-2008, 08:10 PM
As far as I know yeah. I hate to use this is a personal blog for the matter but man.... never had response times this bad with them before. As mentioned before, I just hope Dan is alright.

Posted by HashPipeK, 05-05-2008, 09:47 PM
I hope so too, and I hope someone can get the server back up soon, my partner is not pleased.

Not much of an explanation... Anyways, I'll leave this topic alone now. Best of luck ST customers.

Yep, looks like Dan is back, although I am still offline. I would say this thread can be closed.

Mekhu and ServerTag customers, I AM ALRIGHT. I am not going anywhere and neither is the company. I am just on the other side of the world (HK) on some personal business. I am also looking into visiting datacenters here and see if there's a possibility in expanding here. My response time is a tad slow lately due to no access to the internet. I just had internet installed at my place so expect faster response time from me. In the meantime, our technical team will be able to assist you with anything for the month to come. I'll be back in Toronto June the 7th. Thanks for understanding.

Just a note Dan -- your dns has been offline for an awful long while, mail is bouncing to you: http://www.intodns.com/servertag.com

I talked to him today and he was having a hardware problem with one of his machines. I'm sure he'll have it worked out shortly.
