VPSnow.net and ihostdev.com down

Posted by kdp20, 07-14-2008, 04:45 PM
Hello, anyone know what's going on with vpsnow.net owned by ihostdev.com I've been hosting there for 2 months with no problems and since 1:20pm eastern today, my server has been down. VPSnow.net and ihostdev.com are down also. Anyone know what's going on here, is the owner, Ryan taking off on his customers? I've tried contacting him numerous times since the outage, no response.

Thread moved to Providers and Network Outages and Updates. Did you try the phone number or email address in their whois http://whois.domaintools.com/vpsnow.net?

I called the phone number and it's to a mortgage company, I get no responses when I tried sending an email.

are their servers in CA? I know there is a power outage in Vancouver. It looks like their servers are in Toronto (or at least vpsnow.net is in toronto), but maybe they have servers in Vancounver, too. Sorry can't be of more help.

I'm not 100% sure where the servers are located and I cannot get in touch to ask.

It looks like they get their services from infinitie.net and they are down as well. It looks like these guys are Canadian hosts and I don't know if they're affected by the outage in Vancouver or not.

Here is Ryan's contact info on his whois for vpsnow.net. Did you try either the email here or the phone number here? Administrative Contact: shaffer, ryan p.o. box 51 sunbury, Pennsylvania 17801 United States (570) 286-1109

Yes, the (570) 286-1109 is a phone number to a mortgage company.

You may want to report that to his registrar. Invalid info.

I can confirm that we are currently affected by the Vancouver Downtown outage that has been routed to a BC Hydro issue. I can confirm through freely available information that this company does have servers with Infinitie Networks that are also affected by the Vancouver power issue.

Do you have a ETA on when the power will be back up?

This would be the best place to keep up on the status: http://www.bchydro.com/outages/orsTableView.jsp

Do you have any details as to how bad the problem is? Looking at the site is useless, they don't post any updates.

I don't know. I just saw that in the telecom corridor in vancouver, there was a power outage and none of the backup systems were working. Here's some more info. It seems to be a major situation for the entire downtown of vancouver. http://www.canada.com/montrealgazett...6-f0731881009a
