Layeredtech Down?

Posted by golfer, 07-17-2008, 09:36 PM
Anyone have any servers on Layeredtech that's down? My servers are unreachable and I can't even access the Encompass support site.

Posted by linksys, 07-17-2008, 09:37 PM
Our servers at LT 72.232.5.## are down right now and I also cannot access LT encompass site. Anybody else?

From LT: Hello, At this time we are investigating the issues and working directly with Savvis personnel to get this resolved. No ETA at this time for resolution to the issue. __________________ Kevin Hale TQM Manager Layered Technologies Inc.

Egads. I knew they were upgrading Encompass, but this is ridiculous.

Yes, 2 of our servers at LT is down as well. Very annoying, especially with the price increase and the promise of a more reliable service

Posted by linksys, 07-17-2008, 09:44 PM
The funny thing is that the encompass once came back to life but wouldn't recognize my account. I hope they fix it soon~

main site seems up to me

I have to get away from these people. Does anyone know the SLA off the top of their head?

Posted by 123finder.com, 07-17-2008, 09:48 PM
2 of our servers are also down as well. Yes, this is ridiculous. What do they use the money from the price hike for?

Posted by brianz, 07-17-2008, 09:50 PM
I was being lazy to move away. But this is it :x

As of Fri Jul 18 01:47:23 GMT 2008, My server can't be PINGed by IP. A single server that has happily stayed up for 400 days at a time and is not actually serving ANYTHING except my occasional login.

My server is down as well. I think it's safe to say something is b0rked over there.

Same here, got a server with LT that is down.

For more info on the problem check here: http://ltstatus.com/. As usual there is no info. Good thing they raised prices 30% to improve quality. LOL.

Posted by linksys, 07-17-2008, 09:57 PM
The encompass is back up now but won't accept logins.

Posted by linksys, 07-17-2008, 10:01 PM
Just got an update from LT that they have a power outage?!

Posted by msheakoski, 07-17-2008, 10:02 PM
My server is back up as of 10pm EST.

Posted by autodelete, 07-17-2008, 10:07 PM
Yes, they will be raising your rates again soon, to buy fresh hamsters to run on the wheels. Server still down. LTAdmin on the LT forums closed the discussion thread. Totally bush league.

Mine still down as of now.

Hello, There has been a PDU failure at the Savvis site which is affecting a number of customer servers. This is not a datacenter wide outage and our staff and Savvis team are working to bring everything back online as quickly as possible. Please see http://ltstatus.com for the affected ranges and updates. http://ltstatus.com/index.php/2008/0...2030-cdt-5gmt/ As for the Encompass issues please understand we started our upgrade process to our new ERP system at midnight lastnight and that may affect the ability to login to the portal and some other billing systems while the data is being transferred from our legacy systems to the new ERP. Please see this post below for more information regarding Encompass and the upgrade. http://ltstatus.com/index.php/2008/0...pgrade-on-717/ Thanks, Jeremy

I'm up, no power interruption, up for 152 days at savvis.

Posted by uberhostNET, 07-17-2008, 10:20 PM
Glad we've moved most of our fleet, but this still affects a great deal of our clientele.

Posted by autodelete, 07-17-2008, 10:28 PM
Still down, going on an hour now.

Posted by brianz, 07-17-2008, 10:29 PM
This is ridiculous. How long do we have to wait ?

Posted by ub3r, 07-17-2008, 10:33 PM
How many of you people who were knocked offline got hit with the price hike a few months ago?

Posted by Kjtocool, 07-17-2008, 10:34 PM
My server is outside the range posted above (72.36.250....) and it's still down as well. On a side note, my server with IP 72.232.176.... is still up and kicking.

Posted by golfer, 07-17-2008, 10:42 PM
I'm finally back up.... But, this is definitely the last straw. Time to move.

Posted by linksys, 07-17-2008, 10:47 PM
Back up now.

Posted by BudWay, 07-17-2008, 10:49 PM
Not that I agree with the price change but looks like the outage is recovering fast.

I was trying to log in to post, but I had forgotten my password and my email was down due to my server being down I can't see LT having much of a fault in this since it was their network guys, but still, the lack of response and details was kind of sad.

Posted by alphonso, 07-17-2008, 11:05 PM
I'm pingable again at 72.36.254.X as of 8:00 PM PST. It must have become reachable again after 7:40 PM PST. I notice that the server itself was never down. I'm taking this episode into account as the upcoming month is the new, higher payment.

I see things haven't changed at all since I left. --Tina

You're right, it's business as usual there. "Pay NO attention to the man behind the curtain!" yelled Jeremy as he tripped over the extension cord that powered hundreds of outdated servers.

One of the funniest comments I've read lately. --Tina

I bet you got the the Wizard of Oz reference, but the kiddie hosts are scratching their heads, lol.

Yup. The mental picture of that scenario is hilarious. --Tina
