VPS server down at prohosters.com

My VPS has been down for 12 hours. My host is prohosters.com. It seems that the full server is down and they give me no reason and no restore delay. They said : "The phisical server is crashed and we are working to restore the VPS from our backup (as the server disks are failing to come back). This will take time( could be hours )" How long does it take to restore the VPS from backup ? 12 hours ?

It depends on how well they planned for total server failure. If they don't have a spare HDD to drop in, or lost the local backup data (hope they have physical/offsite backup) then 12 hours could be expected. Waiting for hardware alone can take 24 hours or more some times. Last edited by int32; 07-19-2008 at 12:38 AM. Reason: there is no 'e' in "data"
