ETHR.NET offline?

I can't access ethr.net or any of my servers, does anyone know whats going on?

Our connectivity to Ethr has been interrupted... No word yet from Jay. Has anyone been able to reach him?

My servers are down, no ones answering their phones, and since ethr.net is down, then no one is able to reach their noc@ethr.net email either unless it's forwarded somehow. This is really frustrating, i've got a few large clients who are very angry and I'm transistioning them to our old servers for now.

Is there anyway to get ahold of them? I asked Jay in the past about his phone support and he said "I'm on this now", his cell phone number doesn't work either.

Hey, I'm at ethr.net as well and have been a satisfied customer for 2 years.. but this is making me nervous. It seems that ethr.net has stopped advertising their entire /20 to its transit providers. For example:

Maybe a router went down? Power outage? Ethr.net just bought new servers only a week ago. Ethr.net isn't even pingable (no IP appears to be assigned) Also that number you listed didn't work.

Software misconfiguration likely. Hardware failure possible. Not a power outage.

Possibly an issue with their core equipment. Our infrastructure has been verified to be online, and no power has been interrupted.

Keep in mind that this is not a fiber cut or any sort of physical interruption. Their core router is simply NOT advertising their entire /20 IP block to its BGP providers. As I said - software misconfiguration or MAYBE hardware failure. ARIN's whois yields a number: 510-228-4068, but that line is busy.

I was able to reach it from my ip at Stanford, so their routing is wacky.

Servers working now, Does ethr have a SLA? I've been on the phone with clients who are upset about the downtime. Also anyone find out what exactly happened?

I don't believe so - they've been fairly uhm.. unresponsive since we've been with them (that includes .. well everything we've ever tried to talk to them about).

That's not good, when I used them back in 2004, they had good support and people who answered the phones, ever since Jay cancelled his cell phone or what not, it's nearly impossible to get ahold of him except via Email and I don't feel comfortable with only email support, because what if their network goes down (like it did today)? Our redundant server is located there as well and now I'm not so positive I trust having 2 servers in the same building. Either way, it's not good, they need phone support or someone answering tickets.

At one point they hired a third party person for support - though I don't think that lasted too long unfortunately. Their response time in general is VERY slow :\.

to be fair, this is the 2nd downtime for the past 30 months. the first one lasted less than 5 minutes about a year ago.
