Burst.net - is it just me?

Posted by beyondthebox, 10-05-2008, 12:27 AM
Have been having packet loss on and off for 5 days. It might be just me, but it is not consistant downtime so maybe others aren't posting but having similar troubles. At times it is up to 40% loss, other times it is perfect with 0% loss. Working with burst on it, having opened and closed a number of tickets over the last few days but the problem keeps coming back. They are being helpful, but can't solve the problem - seems to be a difficult one. Interested to hear if others are having the same issues, although maybe it is just the link I am on and is only servers connected to the same switch I'm on...

At least I'm not alone. Although that is not really very comforting... Thanks, Paul

Seems like a different problem to what we are experiencing. Our server is going up and down. Guessing you've opened a ticket with Burst before posting here?

We are having the same issues with our servers. Because of the massive upgrades they did I'm sure they are still tweaking and fine tuning the settings. I'm sure as the days/weeks go on we'll see a continuing performance increase on the network.

I've had average of 30 - 40% packet loss for the last 4 hours. Hoping it doesn't take days/weeks...

Networking are gone for the night... 5 hours till they come in again... Oh the pain...

i am not a burst.net customer anymore however i have been pinging burst.net for the past 10 minutes now and see some latency spikes and 3% packet loss We are going over cogent to them. It may even be cogent, I have found latency spikes on routes through cogent before but normally not the packet loss with it.

The packet loss we are getting is at the final link between Burst's router and our server - averaging 38% over the last 2.5 hours. It all started when they did their big network upgrade a week ago. They have confirmed it isn't my server, but nothing can be done till networking arrive - hopefully after a refreshing sleep!

All working again - sometime through the night. Hoping that is the end of that saga. Thanks to Burst for sorting that out - although it wasn't really in a very timely manner.
