FDC Maintenance...Again

Posted by alexdale, 09-19-2008, 04:42 PM
This is just great. FDC will be doing their 'maintenance' again. -> fdcservers.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=26147 This scares me coz the last time they said 'there won't be any expected downtime' went on about 18 hours of packet loss and serious migraine. Just venting.

Odd, thread doesn't exist for me. Are logins required to access it? Note this isn't exactly an 'outage', yet anyways. At least they're being proactive by maintaining the network and increasing capacity

for some reason fdc changed the thread that's why it appears to be non-existent. here's the thread: -> fdcservers.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3812 i've been with fdc for years, yup they're being proactive by lots of network hiccups, downtimes, etc. they're still the best when it comes to bandwidth i know, but i just hope they'll improve their network uptime and reliability. we al know fdc has the stigma of being unstable/unreliable (see those fdc down threads, you'll find plenty ot these here). my 2 cents.

Please provide the ticket ID in pm for your 18 hours of packetloss. Thank you.

Dont waste you time!!

It's not a waste if I can help to address an issue that took so long to have resolved.

Posted by Mr Terrence, 09-22-2008, 12:01 AM
I dont think their was an issue.. does that user ever have service with you?

Posted by chrono-it, 09-22-2008, 12:07 AM
I assume so. If not then I'm not sure why he's opening this thread.

so far no downtime here tonight (i've been working on a site on my server there most of the night and have not lost connection---i do not have detailed site uptime reports though)

FDC down right now...all my 5 servers went down 3 mins ago... oh wait it went back up in 5 mins. prolly just a hiccup.

Posted by giliav, 10-06-2008, 05:02 AM
My 5 machines are un-reachable too. Hoping it will get back online fast.

Posted by alexdale, 10-06-2008, 05:04 AM
all is back up and working fine. just a network hiccup i guess.

Posted by giliav, 10-06-2008, 05:05 AM
Yep - I confirmed - mine are back too now.

Posted by alexdale, 10-06-2008, 05:11 AM
apparently not. it's down again just now. this is annoying. >.<

Posted by Krazy, 10-06-2008, 05:11 AM
down bad, the highest unstable network i have even seen, based on past 3 months

Posted by alexdale, 10-06-2008, 05:15 AM
yeah wait till you see chrono posting here (he's from fdc) and you'll see it's even worse. so so service and rude staff... what more can you ask for? that's why i hate to post @ the fdc forum, they just don't like you to complain on anything, they tell you to create a ticket, etc etc. not allowed to talk. (that's why there's not much posts from members there, they just lock up most of the threads about complaints lol) wanted to post here @ webhostingtalk coz they can't close my thread here. this ain't their homebase lmao. just my 2 cents, based on my experience. so please don't tell me i'm unfair, etc etc coz i've heard of it thousands of times and it ain't affecting me a bit lol.
