Burst down or extremely slow

Posted by badawi, 10-09-2008, 09:07 AM
I have been getting either very slow connection or none with my boxes on Burst even the ticket system is very slow. Does anyone else have this issue?

Posted by vickydepp, 10-09-2008, 09:12 AM
I also noticed that problem. The support staff is not responding to my ticket about that. With all that has been happening lately, this has to be the worst provider ever. I'm really hopeless

i have the same issue Ping statistics for 66.96.192.201: Packets: Sent = 38, Received = 23, Lost = 15 (39% loss), very slow connection to burst.net

There was a thread a few days ago about burst. Perhaps this is related: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=727067 Regards

well now the connection is lost all together and when it comes it is very erratic. Can we please get an answer from Burst? Did anyone manage to get any refund for all the down time we had in the last couple of weeks?? Please tell us if you did.

Going up and down here, seems somewhat like a DDOS? Normally BurstNET clear those up pretty quick, we shall see.

does not look good at all: Ping 66.96.192.201 [burst.net] Timed out Timed out Timed out Timed out Timed out Timed out Timed out Timed out Round trip time to 66.96.192.201: 86 ms Round trip time to 66.96.192.201: 108 ms

Hmmm, it's not a full outage, either something isn't routing correctly or it's a DDOS.

I got an answer: Hello, This is related to a network issue we have right now. Our networking department is already looking into this and hope this will be fixed asap. Regards, Florian N. Senior Support Technician BurstNET Technologies, Inc. http://www.burst.net Just for the record, I wasn't asking if there was a problem. I was asking about what the problem is and when it will be fixed.

It's intermittent now, sometimes it loads a page, other times it doesn't. Edit: it's down again. :@ Last edited by five-of-eight; 10-09-2008 at 09:44 AM.

SiteUptime is reporting up in some locations, down in others. It's down here.

SiteUptime is now reporting all up, just loading slowly (although it might be their high load?), I'm loading everything fast now. Update: famous last words, back down. Intermittent network, not sure what's going on over @ BurstNET?

****in' ****! I can't believe it's happening again.

It's bad for me too.

I cannot even get to the help desk interface. its all down from here. I want to know if any one got a refund for the down time we had the last few weeks.

What's going on? That's easy Burst sucks. Shall we open a book for how long it will be down this week?

If you are all in such a tizzy over the downtime, then move elsewhere. BurstNET is a budget provider, they will have outages. It happens.

Posted by rathin, 10-09-2008, 10:24 AM
now it workeing fine here

Posted by five-of-eight, 10-09-2008, 10:25 AM
Working for me too.

Posted by Fizzadar, 10-09-2008, 10:29 AM
All hosts have outages, not just the 'budget' hosts. Admittedly, BurstNET have had a bad month this month, but they have been going through some pretty big upgrades. Anyway, back up

I had better response in normal situations from Burst than with many other (more expensive) hosts. I feel at home with Burst its a love hate situation.

We are experiencing a large multi-gigabit distributed denial of service attack on the network, causing speed issues and packet loss. The attack was large enough to overload equipment at several of our upstream/backbone providers, saturating multiple gigabit circuits. Network engineering is actively working on the issue. Service should be resuming back to normal as our backbone carriers null-route the target of the attacks at our request. We expect it to be resolved shortly. . .

Downloading from the UK still seems very slow. I'm on a 23mbit connection at home and downloading at 25k sec.. Anyone else have a server at BURST so I can do a speed test?

Posted by NWSTech, 10-10-2008, 06:05 AM
