Lunarpages Fuzzy Server

Posted by Joshua, 01-18-2009, 01:40 AM
I have a shared hosting account for testing at LunarPages, and all has been smooth for the past 2 months... until 3 days ago. The server my account is on, Fuzzy, has now been mostly down for close to 3 days now. All services seem to be screwed up on the server (Can log in to CPanel, but not access anything, and all pages on my site 404). Announcements are as follows: Fuzzy Emergency Server Restoration - January 15-16, 2009 « on: January 15, 2009, 01:50:02 AM » Hello, The Fuzzy server requires a move as the server will not boot back up due to issue with raid. Please note that sites are currently offline for Apache activity and other services. Accounts will begin to restore throughout the process, which means some accounts will be back online within less than an hour from this notice as the restore progresses. If your site it not yet online, please check back periodically as most will restore within the first few hours. Unfortunately, we do not have advance knowledge of the exact time of when this window will occur as it is dependent on numerous factors, however, we are estimating this will be approximately 5am Pacific time on Friday, January 16, 2009. Please note that you may check the current status for this server at any time in CAP via https://account.lunarpages.com/ with your cPanel username and password, then by clicking the Network Status icon. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Lunarpages System Administrator Team Re: Fuzzy Emergency Server Restoration - January 15-16, 2009 « Reply #1 on: January 16, 2009, 02:45:47 PM » Hello, Fuzzy is currently at 333 gigabytes restored out of 460 gigabytes. We will continue restoring and announce when this emergency restore has been completed. ThanksI called their support earlier today, and all the support rep could tell me was that the server was in the process of "rebooting". This isn't going well, at all.

It is now 4+ days of downtime, with no reasonable response from support. I'd hate to have a live production site on this server.

Joshua, what did you expect from a server named Fuzzy?

This was resolved within the past hour - It turns out that their automatic migration somehow left some sites behind, which they had to restore manually.
