Server Complete - MASSIVE downtime

Posted by whmcsguru, 05-29-2009, 04:34 AM
Typically, I have no problems with scheduled downtimes, as long as the provider actually knows what they're doing. In this case though, this is nothing but pathetic: Notification went out tonight that downtime was going to be going on tonight, window between 1230 and 230AM EST (two hours ago). In the same email, we get this gem: Even better: Errm, I noticed it. The network aint WORKING! Here we are @ 430AM EST, 2 hours past window, and lo and behold, the server is still unable to reach the interweb. Oddly enough, I can get in through my own server (stilllooking at that), but trying to get out anywhere, just gets me this: Trying to trace TO the server, I get this: Support ticket? You bet. Of course, no response for over 2 hours Anyone else having problems here? I'm just sick of this garbage. I can't sleep until my VPS is up, my VPS provider refuses to respond to tickets, WTH?

Check the thread above this one. They are having issues with their upstream Rus

Yeah, that'd work if they were using wholesale internet, but they're not, they're actually using wiresix, which is up and running just fine, up until the packets get to wiresix. Their website (servercomplete) loads fine, wiresix loads fine, this is most definitely not a wholesale internet problem. This is a specific VPS node / routing problem, nothing more

YAY, it only took 3 hours to get a response to a critical issue, and the server was only unavailable for 4 hours longer than it should have been (not counting the 2 hour maintenance window). Complete and total disaster here!!!!!

I have had nothing but great experience with Server Complete. I'm sorry for your experience, and I'm hopign it was a fluke. I'm sure Daniel will let you know what happened. I was a VPS customer of there's and now I'm a dedi customer of theirs. And I've been in the new 55 Marietta DC for about a month and it's been great. Sometimes unexpected crap happens and hopefully Daniel will explain.

Hi there, I have followed up with you via our ticket system and hope that this problem has been resolved. A mass mail has gone out to all of our clientele explaining further and how we have postponed any further migrations while additional planning is made. We are in the process of expanding our current staffing capacity to better facilitate events such as this and I can assure you that the events of last night will be far from overlooked. Any further questions/comments/concerns should be directed to our helpdesk where I will address them. Thank you, Daniel Stephens Server Complete, LLC
