Ecatel down?

Hello, Some of my servers and ecatel main website seems to be down at the moment. Can someone please check? www.ecatel.net http://helpdesk.ecatel.net/

They come back???? OR all servers is down. Forever?

Posted by Garikus, 03-24-2009, 11:41 AM
My box is down too. Even their site doesn't resolve.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 11:47 AM
All my servers are offline and I'm very unhappy. Ecatel constantly killing the results of all my work. It's absolutely impossible to build reliable business with this hosting company. Unfortunately I have to move all my servers or at least a half of them away from Ecatel, I'm too tired to suffer from that

Posted by SAnet-iNDEx, 03-24-2009, 11:57 AM
BUT what if all ecatel servers is down FOREVER?! Where backup?!....

Posted by Kayleigh, 03-24-2009, 11:59 AM
Maybe an idea to search on wht for the company you are interested in ?

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 12:03 PM
I hope they will be online again soon. They will say something like "Sorry, it' the last time when our entire network is offline". But I don't think that there is a sence to believe them anymore. They do it over and over again and I don't believe that this hosting company will become reliable one day. Anyway I have backups of all my servers, but some backups are very old

Posted by RoelMPV, 03-24-2009, 12:19 PM
Yep, my servers are offline too Hopefully they get back up soon.

Posted by justify, 03-24-2009, 12:19 PM
We don't have backups and yes they always claim it will not happen again and execuse for problems but it doesn't work when it comes to talk my customers... I have no interest in loosing people by staying with Ecatel from now on.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 12:39 PM
I don't even hope to see their comments in this thread. 2 weeks ago all their network was offline and they didn't even say anything about that.

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 12:40 PM
UPDATE: I just got word they had a fire and backup generators are down.

Posted by RoelMPV, 03-24-2009, 12:42 PM
Oh thats not good! Hopefully they'll get it fixed and online soon.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 12:50 PM
How did you get this information? There is no method to contact them at all for me

Posted by supportfacility, 03-24-2009, 12:51 PM
yes the domain is down here too.

Posted by SB-Jasper, 03-24-2009, 12:51 PM
I just had Reinier on the phone, and he told me that the core-router is down. The rumour about fire is nonsense (i also have that confirmed by Capgemini). They're doing everything they can to bring the network up as soon as possible. Last edited by SB-Jasper; 03-24-2009 at 01:05 PM.

Posted by ZingNos, 03-24-2009, 12:54 PM
I am also experiencing downtime as of (2009-03-24 15:29:23 GMT) according to my monitoring service. Hopefully all will be back up in no time

They had a fire... everything is down.

My god a fire are you sure? Gah that's the worst cause scenario, how did you get that update figured out? Any idea's if they will have the servers back up within the hour.

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 01:10 PM
Owners of the biggest warez sites hosted by Ecatel by MSN.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 01:12 PM
Anyone knows how long it can take them to find a new core-router or repair the current one? My business is really dying, I've never been so unhappy in my life

Posted by Garikus, 03-24-2009, 01:17 PM
There's still no reason to panic.. I think they'll be back soon. There were problems with their core-router already, however, they fixed it in some hours.. It's better to hear Ecatel to see what had happened. Any bad news are better than nothing.

Posted by bhanuprasad1981, 03-24-2009, 01:25 PM
ohhh no not again

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-24-2009, 01:29 PM
This is the 3rd time THIS WEEK my sites have been down. The first was ecatel going down due a ddos, the second was ecatel's DNS being down (I moved to easy dns to prevent it), and the third was now. Getting very ridiculous they need to seriously work on getting better uptime rather then getting more servers, because they're going to lose a lot of customers this time around.

Posted by squirrelhost, 03-24-2009, 01:31 PM
aren't they moving DC next weekend? that'll be fun for their customers...

Posted by trajcek, 03-24-2009, 01:34 PM
Oh man ;( Hopefully not much data is lost..

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 01:34 PM
Why should they?

Posted by squirrelhost, 03-24-2009, 01:38 PM
it says here: http://www.webhostingtalk.nl/netwerk...atel-down.html they're relocating this weekend. as for why? you'd surely need to ask them about their business arrangements.

Posted by Michael_O, 03-24-2009, 01:41 PM
Goh, instant panic! Just a broken blade in Amsterdam, a new one is on it's way.

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 01:41 PM
Sorry, but I don't read Dutch. Can you tell us, what people are saying about current problem? Als, I haven't received any info from Ecatel about moving to a new datacenter.

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 01:43 PM
Sorry, but where did you get that information? How long will it take Ecatel to make everything UP?

Posted by serversprovider, 03-24-2009, 01:44 PM
my 10 servers this is very much

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 01:44 PM
I don't understand why they don't have a copy of their core-router for such situations. It's not easy to find a new core-router, especially if it's night.

Posted by HJI Technologies LLC, 03-24-2009, 01:48 PM
He's talking about DATA. I'm sure Data won't be lost.

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 01:49 PM
on last 90 days ecatel was down 19 times!!!! Our bussiness is been ruined by this downtimes. (newletter with no roi, money waste on ppc and so one) On every single downtime we never receive a e-mail with an explanation. We will move for shure next days, alrady order servers on another dedicated provider.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 01:52 PM
I have absolutely the same situation

Posted by Kayleigh, 03-24-2009, 01:55 PM
You are absolutely right. You can't run a business with that much downtime.

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 02:01 PM
I think it is safe to say that most of will be making plans to leave Ecatel...

Posted by Michael_O, 03-24-2009, 02:05 PM
Things that happen in the netherlands regarding to providers spread rather fast. I don't think the downtime will last a lot longer. Night? The only place where it was "night" when it broke, is Australia

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 02:07 PM
Michael_O Hope you are right. Just trying to imagine how long will it take them to buy/transport/configure and install a router. And it is 19:00 already in Amsterdam.

Posted by ZingNos, 03-24-2009, 02:11 PM
According to: Only one blade of the core router is broken, new one on its way

Posted by Michael_O, 03-24-2009, 02:14 PM
So..? Hardware that is required urgently (or might as well just be at an other location) can be acquired about 24/7, if you got enough money.

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 02:16 PM
I didn't say that it's night right now. But it could be a night and we would wait even more for a new core-router to be bought and delivered.

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 02:17 PM
Hope you understand me - I'm here not to claim that "Ecatel has been down 10 days that week / 45 days that month". I just want them to be back online asap

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 02:18 PM
no excuses, all of us run a business, as we care to have offline backups, extra disks to manage daily backups, etc ecatel should have spare hardware!

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 02:22 PM
and more... why never a single representative of ecatel say something on foruns when a downtime exists? I'm tired and moving to another server, but first I will spend my time warning other persons to not waste money on this morrons

Posted by j0k3r, 03-24-2009, 02:30 PM
Of course, I also want to hear some more info from them... But.. Is it their official forum? Or have they ever told at their agreement/site/etc that they would post here? I think, both answers are "NO".

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 02:33 PM
How hard is it to keep spare hardware around? Pure fail on Ecatel's part. God forbid one of us have a hard drive crash!

Posted by justify, 03-24-2009, 02:34 PM
At the moment, I lost my biggest client.. He told me that he's tired with datacenter problems in the last 2 weeks and left. Thank you Ecatel for making my business bad in these bad days..

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 02:35 PM
Of course its not oficial forum, thats why after i finished to move my servers i will leave a very very negative review to avoid other people be scammed like i did with this company!

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 02:37 PM
You're not alone. Once servers are back up, I'm moving all my clients to a more stable network before I lose anymore! I just bought some new servers and setting them up now. 8)

Posted by jon-f, 03-24-2009, 02:45 PM
Yeah still down for me, hope its not a routing/bandwidth carrier incident like last time. I am sure they are working on getting it back up as soon as possible, Here's to hoping that happens soon. No its not impossible to build a client base there just make sure client has no unreasonable expectations and that downtime will happen sometimes and there is nothing you can do about it. Howver I will say they are very stable and good 99% of the time. This last run they have had since that routing issue has been great. No need being coy, We all US hosts know what we use Netherlands networks for. These type of clients really have no room to complain much, where else are they going to go that is like ecatel. Sell the hosting for what it is - Netherlands hosting. Have strict terms regarding support queries, make sure you link your faq and support numerous times from the sales page. Have your regular US hosting at US servers, Use your Netherlands servers for Netherlands hosting. Just some advice.

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 02:49 PM
i dont know what you talking about, my business is 100% legit Do you tell ecatel is for hosting warez and similar?

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 03:12 PM
My sites are absolutely legal. When I moved to Ecatel their prices were very good, their support was at least better than even paid Leaseweb support and their network was also good. Are you joking? They are not stable. They have been offline for so many times that can't even count it. And each time there is no any information from their side. Probably they have so many clients that they don't even care about each one of them. I don't understand their behavior.

Posted by Michael_O, 03-24-2009, 03:13 PM
Bought? I don't think you know the scale of ecatel's network, it's not some random provider that has two racks with a bunch of servers in them. They got those things in stock, as they probably should, where, that's an other matter. Who says they doesn't have? It's not like they're doing a lot against it.

Posted by jon-f, 03-24-2009, 03:13 PM
lol I didn't say that. But like I said, if you are US based host why would you put your main client base on Netherlands servers? Especially if your clientele is US or UK. I just don't see why anyone would put their main client base here unless they was a Dutch based business. And btw, its not illegit to sell hosting in other countries that is not bound by DMCA. Just because you need something to avoid DMCA does not mean you are a warez site. Many sites have problems with frivilous DMCA takedown demands daily. As far as being offline so many times in the last few months. I just havent seen it. I have 2 servers there with quite a few clients on them and today is the first time Ive seen any downtime on my side

Posted by RoelMPV, 03-24-2009, 03:20 PM
Does anyone have an idea when they expect to be online again?

Posted by Darecoil, 03-24-2009, 03:31 PM

Posted by justify, 03-24-2009, 04:39 PM
I believe, I'll do the same...

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 04:42 PM
I hope you're not right. Some of my servers were offline for 2 days already because of them.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-24-2009, 04:50 PM
6 hours of downtime and counting.. come on ecatel this is the worst downtime you've had to date.

Posted by yah0m, 03-24-2009, 04:53 PM
Yeah, I've done the same. This is stupid.

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 04:53 PM
no, isnt, the worst since im client are 16h...

Posted by jon-f, 03-24-2009, 05:05 PM
Your guys who filed paypal chargebacks you wont win them, its intangible digital goods. And if you filed an unauthorized funds claim that's just pure gay. But I guess people do it everyday on digital goods and actually win most of the time. Paypal doesn't even bother to check the ip logs for your account. It still doesnt make it right.. No need talking about chargebacks and stuff though, thats just not cool and Im sure most of the other hosts here will second me on that. You cant just charge someone back for downtime. You simply dont renew next month. If you dont have enough capital to take a loss on a server or two you wont make it in this business. Losses will happen no matter where you are, no matter what the circumstances. Sure a network may be a big part of the blame to your losses but keep in mind people, this is just a few hours here. Maybe start talking doom and gloom for your business and clients after 24 hours. I checked my basicstate stats and for both of my ecatel servers there was no downtime earlier this month. What downtime are you guys talking about? How long was it? Give ecatel a lil while to work out their problems. If anyone cant handle it then by all means move providers, Im sure they will resell your old servers within a week. You guys are selling the wrong type of hosting on these servers if you are US based hosts and it can hurt you that bad to have an outage.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-24-2009, 05:10 PM
Yes site's are back up just under 6 hours, They better now work on redundency as that massive. For the guy who said what downtime? Apparently your stats are broken EVERYONE has had downtime this month at least twice.

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-24-2009, 05:25 PM
I dont charge back a digital good, but a service. I charge back because costumers need to be informed about this things! Ecatel always be down and never send a single mail with apologies to costumers...

Posted by justify, 03-24-2009, 05:26 PM
- If you dont have enough capital to take a loss on a server or two- @felosi; We have more than 25 servers with Ecatel and paid for them just 48 hours before. @vmirjamali; Are you back online? Thanks

Posted by Phidelio, 03-24-2009, 05:27 PM
3k? Wow. Is that for one month or? I have a feeling all these cancels will cost the lots and lots of dough..

Posted by Yahook, 03-24-2009, 05:32 PM
Yes, I agree with you. A company that respects their customers must inform them about such things. Ecatel never informs their customers about such things. Thanks a lot to WHT, here I can find at least a few of needed information. It's down everywhere. Check out the url http://host-tracker.com/check_res_ajx/2456562-0/share/. Nothing has changed.

Posted by plumsauce, 03-25-2009, 03:50 AM
Not quite. Felosi said he uses basicstate.com so let me explain. Most of the concerns we see are that basicstate.com is too picky about what constitutes a pass status. That is to say, if Felosi does not see any problems, then he was never down for more than 15 minutes, as that is the check interval. This is not particular to his account. Every test is set at a 15 minute interval. On a failure, a retest is scheduled for the next minute, but the failure is still marked. The retest is just so that on a transient failure the account holder can be notified that the panic is over. That way users won't have a heart attack while stuck in traffic. As the test is http, this means the testing server was able to get a valid http response out of his server every single time. Nothing else will result in a pass. We will even fail a https test if the cert does not pass a root trust verification. It might be a valid cert, but it would trigger a warning to a user, so it is counted as a fail. Even a 404 will result in a fail. As you can see, the testing and reporting are quite rigourous. Account holders cannot even reset the data Last edited by plumsauce; 03-25-2009 at 04:04 AM.

Are Ecatel a bunch of kids ? That's not a professional answer. do they compensate the downtime?

Posted by justify, 03-25-2009, 09:55 AM
No of course. They claim their profit is very less, everytime.. No problem actually I will get my money back.

Posted by Novogara, 03-25-2009, 12:33 PM
hello, Could you please PM me your server ip, then i will ask someone to check this immediately. Our network is operational again since yesterday evening. When your server is down this cannot a be network related issue as the network is up 100% again. The reason for the outage: The backplane of our coreswitch in Amsteradm was broken, we had to replace the whole switch which required a lot of time. The switch is FULLY redundant except the backplane. Unfortunally our helpdesk system was down too. We apologise for the inconvenience, ecatel staff did really *EVERYTHING* to have this problem solved as soon as possible. You will also be notified in official written today (mailing-list). Anyone who has any issues with his server, feel free to sent me a PM on WHT so we can fix this issue immediately. We wish to thank all our clients who supported us in this situation!

Will you cut the BS out? Seriously... people these days. Cut them some slack. I'd like to see everyone else do a better job at trying to maintain a whole network. At Ecatel said, they did the best they could to get everything back online ASAP, and I'm sure they did the best efforts. Stuff like this happens, and lately, with the condition the world is in right now, I wouldn't doubt this kind of stuff happening. Stuff happens, move on.

Posted by JayX, 03-25-2009, 01:29 PM
In fairness Androgen, you're taking them at their word that they did their best.. maybe their best wasn't good enough? Ecatel haven't got the best uptime record, and their reputation with regards to that daft 'holding your server ransom' situation (which unfortunately probably has been lost due to DB deletion) certainly isn't seen as particularly professional. You seem happy to pat them on the back with no more information than anyone else, but because it wasn't your servers that were down it's easy to take the corps side. I don't see what 'the condition of the world' has to do with anything.

We have mailled million times and wrote here but still someone is not able to fix my issue. I lost very good amount of money Says, my friend..

Posted by Kayleigh, 03-25-2009, 01:57 PM
You're not completely right: They could have done more to inform clients what happend. Things like this can happen everywhere but why did't Ecatel inform clients ? No backup dns etc ? still: they could respond in a forum like this. A lot of people are reading this. So, Mr. Ecatel: why didn't you inform clients on this forum? Also, some clients reported that their server was offline for more than 24 hours. That is much too long if you run a professional business. Hopefully Alpen a/d Rijn(village in the Netherlands), is better. I heard you are moving this weekend.

Posted by adrianctn, 03-25-2009, 02:19 PM
Hello, It is very strange : My server is still offline at this time. Can't ping, can't access it. I've sent tickets to support, ICQ the user Ecatel.

Posted by justify, 03-25-2009, 02:22 PM
Ecatel, I beg you PLEASE just reboot my server it's down since 30 hours now.. If you don't want to work with us, just let me know. PMed the details...

Posted by amatsoukas, 03-25-2009, 03:30 PM
i pm'ed you too with the ticket number that i sent from this morning. still my servers are down, support has told me many times that they are looking into my case, but of course nothing happened till now to resolve it

Posted by jambo87, 03-25-2009, 03:43 PM
Has anyone heared from Ecatel on this matter? My server is still down and I have had no replies from the support tickets Anyone know what's going on? Cheers guys

Posted by justify, 03-25-2009, 05:36 PM
Oh thanks god mine are up...

Posted by amatsoukas, 03-25-2009, 05:47 PM
we're not so lucky, unfortunately. 32h and counting ...

Posted by HJI Technologies LLC, 03-25-2009, 09:58 PM
I am well aware of how Ecatel is, but don't you think it would be best to give them some time? Although it is understandable that people's servers and their business are at a fall atm, you should realize that Ecatel has already told SEVERAL times that they are doing their best. I'd like to see you run a company as big as Ecatel and tell me how you do. This is coming from a person who has been part of MANY corporate systems, running daily operations, etc, so I fully understand what situation they are in and how much effort they are putting in.

Posted by Kayleigh, 03-25-2009, 10:39 PM
May i ask why you host your site not with Ecatel ?

Posted by Yahook, 03-26-2009, 11:43 AM
There is no excuse to Ecatel. It's their complete fault in this situation. I think this time they will loose a big part of their clients. If they don't change their methods of work they will loose everything. 1) They don't think about their customers and don't inform them about such situations. There is no even a phone number there where customers can call. 2) I think this core-router was broken long time ago, that's why lots of people say that there were 19 downtimes during last 2 weeks. It's true. I think at the end this core-router died completely. Why Ecatel didn't notice it before to prevent such situation? 3) Their support was always! slow, when the server is offline it takes ages to get any answer from them. When they started their work it was a little bit better. Now it's terrible. 4) Their support is not polite. Sometimes their answers are good. But sometimes their answers are so rude that I understand that actually they don't respect their customers at all. 5) They never solve hardware problems fast.

Posted by HJI Technologies LLC, 03-26-2009, 06:11 PM
There's always room for improvement.

Posted by jon-f, 03-26-2009, 06:16 PM
Ok, the downtime was bad, was for all of us. Call me an ecatel fanboy or whatever but these guys have been nothing but straight shooters with me. Its still a fairly young network and Ive seen a lot worse from supposedly established "99.9999% uptime guarantee 24/7" companies. Of course every company has room to grow and has to face criticsm but I think it gets a lil over the edge with ecatel sometimes on here. If you dont like it move elsewhere, I can assure you that many more people like me who do have faith in the company will step forward and snatch up those free servers quick. Anyway, its fixed, was a network outage, it happens. Me nor any of my clients on ecatel, even the shared hosting clients plans to give up on them anytime soon.

Posted by SAnet-iNDEx, 03-27-2009, 12:51 PM
Today 14:00 PM my server in DOWN...now too = 6 hours. I'm try contact with ECATEL: they say Why they were not warned about this??????!!!!!!!! And i'm wait 6 hours....how many more?!!!!! 2 days all with downtime!!!!! THANKS YOU ECATEL!!!!!!

Posted by yah0m, 03-27-2009, 01:40 PM
lol i'm so glad i left them when i got the chance.

Posted by SAnet-iNDEx, 03-27-2009, 01:52 PM
Yes, it's second downtime for me...per 3 day downtime more than 7 hours...great...no announce by ecatel befor DOWN, they OFF server and work...not need inform clients...- good work Ecatel! 100% move to another company!

Posted by Michael_S, 03-27-2009, 02:58 PM
I received an email that maintanence was going to be carried out on A03 servers between 12:00 and 16:00, Dutch time. ...it's now 20:00, and my server is still down.

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-27-2009, 04:34 PM
A good question for all who still are with ecatel is why the new supposed router/switch isn't configured outside the rack and after configuration done switched on 10 minutes or less? Everyone whos knows how a network work knows this is the best way to switch things. 3 days 2 downtimes >6h No explanation was given for anyone, no refunds, no compensations, nothing, just joking on their costumers...

Posted by yah0m, 03-27-2009, 05:09 PM
Their network admins don't know how to do stuff? PS: one more server to move and I'm 100% off Ecatel ^_^

Posted by Michael_S, 03-27-2009, 05:36 PM
Heh, this is pretty funny. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last time as downtime/issues occur, but this is now almost 7 hours past their "scheduled" 4 hour maintanence window. I've received no response to emails, nobody has picked up the phone, and not a single response regarding this latest issue on WebHostingTalk.

Posted by justify, 03-27-2009, 05:54 PM
I wonder if people will stay here if they are offered a good deal? My customers already ran away but I expect to get them back once they give something like x months free service and of course not 1 month.. One of my customer had a website worth of $300.000 in Ecatel that making more than $800 daily and it's down since the last 4 days. I hope this is enough to explain how people are in loss..

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-27-2009, 06:19 PM
Someone already think on sue ecatel?

Posted by justify, 03-27-2009, 06:32 PM
Yes my biggest customer who left some servers and waiting others to become online, is planning this..

Posted by yah0m, 03-27-2009, 06:44 PM
lol how do you sue a DC for downtime?

Posted by CostumerSRV, 03-27-2009, 06:50 PM
As you know no one see the terms and conditions, so for all effects you are rent a internet connection for 30 days (24/h a day). You could argument losses on your bussiness for the service dont be served as you agreed and pay. Its the same situation you rent a store on a shopping and the shopping close the doors without your consent. Its a matter of looking on NL legislation

Posted by SAnet-iNDEx, 03-27-2009, 09:37 PM
15 hours downtime...great! Ecatel the best!

Posted by Michael_S, 03-27-2009, 09:50 PM
...and subtly back online at 3AM local time, 11 hours behind their maintanence window. Still no notification from anyone, no replies to emails, etc.. awesome.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-28-2009, 09:59 PM
Anyone still down I just went down right now. And I don't know how or why and I haven't got as response yet. 10 minutes downtime so far.

Posted by ryc_eric, 03-29-2009, 02:50 AM
Lol. Play with fire.. get burned.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-29-2009, 02:56 AM
No it seems like I was being ddos'd.

Posted by justify, 03-29-2009, 04:10 PM
How did Ecatel compansate your loss guys?...

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-29-2009, 04:16 PM
They didn't. That's why ecatel sucks.

Posted by j0k3r, 03-29-2009, 04:18 PM
Have you asked them about a compensation?

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-29-2009, 04:22 PM
Yes I have. Did you? and if so what did they give?

Posted by justify, 03-29-2009, 07:06 PM
They have offered 14 days free hosting for all servers to my friend. Myself, didn't ask and didn't get something yet.

Posted by techwacky, 03-29-2009, 09:48 PM
Looks like Ecatel Sucks. so which one now the best in Netherlands??? any suggestion??

Posted by ZingNos, 03-30-2009, 03:48 PM
Looks like ecatel's helpdesk is down Anyone else?

Posted by NukLeoN, 03-30-2009, 03:50 PM
And servers in 89.248.162.x

Posted by ZingNos, 03-30-2009, 03:52 PM
Yes, one of my host-servers are on that.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-30-2009, 04:03 PM
It's up just fine for me. I'm guessing it's their dns services, since i use my own, and my sites work just great.

Posted by ZingNos, 03-30-2009, 04:08 PM
Well, the IP range is down, i have checked my dns service - everydns.net and it is working fine. Everything on 89.248.162.xxx seems to be down. The helpdesk is on 89.248.163.xxx so i guess that is down too.

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-30-2009, 04:17 PM
Wow I feel for your losses, if it's down for you let ecatel know. Ecatel Help desk does work for me, so try it again using some other internet connnection if you have access to any others.

Posted by ZingNos, 03-30-2009, 05:06 PM
Really? You can access the helpdesk? The trace fails so i am guessing it is down globally 1 hour and counting

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-30-2009, 05:07 PM
Yes I can , it's at billing.ecatel.net. The page is a bit slow, and the images don't work but for the most part it's somewhat functional.

Posted by jon-f, 03-30-2009, 05:52 PM
ya I just went to put a new client on a server and it was down. IN the 89.248.162.* I do hope they get these problems squared away. Ive supported them always but now I'm a lil worried myself. 2-4 hours a month is tolerable for such a network but beyond that it becomes a problem. I still support them and got faith in them but I really hope things get more stable or otherwise my clients lose faith in me and Ill have no choice but to abandon my netherlands hosting.

Posted by jon-f, 03-30-2009, 09:19 PM
Server on 89.248.162.* still down, Dont know how long its been down but Id assume since before 3pm

Posted by ZingNos, 03-30-2009, 09:20 PM
Mine is back up, however i am leaving them due to this.

Posted by tigahost, 03-30-2009, 10:59 PM
it down for about 6 hours

Posted by offshoreb, 03-31-2009, 05:15 AM
Our server is still down - I'm counting the downtimes with ecatel in days now not hours anymore. This company is just piece of crap and should not be allowed to offer hosting services as even my laptop is online more often than their network and servers.

Posted by yah0m, 03-31-2009, 03:54 PM
wow... down again.

Posted by tabbycph, 03-31-2009, 03:56 PM
yes wow, down again again. great that I only need to move one domain away from the server at ecatel to leaseweb.

Posted by bhanuprasad1981, 03-31-2009, 03:57 PM

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-31-2009, 03:58 PM

Posted by vmirjamali, 03-31-2009, 04:00 PM
and their back up again. Probably doing some quick work. Wish they would warn us.

Posted by bhanuprasad1981, 03-31-2009, 04:02 PM

Ahhh no... that site sucks, why should we pay for SLA? When that's something they should be covering period.

Posted by bhanuprasad1981, 04-01-2009, 01:02 AM
not again

Posted by dyntime, 04-01-2009, 01:03 AM
eh, beats having 85% downtime.

Posted by vmirjamali, 04-01-2009, 01:09 AM
Actually no it doesn't It's not 85 percent downtime. It's more like... 95 percent uptime, which is the problem. It should be 99.5 percent up time or more which means in a month which contains 720 hours, of those hours they should only have 3.5 hours of downtime to be considered reasonable. This month it's been akin to 30 hours of downtime or a 95.6 or so percentage of uptime which imo sucks. Just hope you can stop this crap, pissed off everyone involved.

Posted by bhanuprasad1981, 04-01-2009, 01:13 AM
my server up but don't know for how much time

Posted by X-Hosted, 05-21-2009, 05:11 PM
http://noc.ecatel.net/?page=status Network status There are currently no known network issues. Maybe its server related, doesnt ecatel have a SLA with some response time guarantees in the weekends?

NOC is down.

Posted by j0k3r, 05-28-2009, 06:08 AM
Thanks. Don't you have servers with Ecatel? Just want to know how many servers are offline as I've heard that co-located servers are online.

Posted by tomazo, 05-28-2009, 06:12 AM
Got 1 dedicated, it's online.

Posted by j0k3r, 05-28-2009, 06:13 AM
Can you provide me with an IP range of your server? Also have you tried contacting support about NOC being down?

Posted by tomazo, 05-28-2009, 06:17 AM
89.248.172.xxx It's located in cabinet A03, datacentre AMS1. And no, I haven't.

Posted by Novogara, 05-28-2009, 09:48 AM
hello, there are and were no network issues, and for a long time already.. Typically some people think its neccesary to post at WHT when their server is down. Webhostingtalk is NOT ecatel support. People like suhailc should be banned on this forum, our customers know it never takes 5 days to reply and his other replies in this topic are useless aswell. Mostly tickets are replied within one hour and some cases a few hours. Ecatel support is availible 24/7. Topic reported to a moderator with a request to close it. Customers who need support, please contact info@ecatel.net

Posted by j0k3r, 05-28-2009, 10:45 AM
Hello. I really don't know what it was 4 days ago, but my server got rebooted. I do understand that WHT isn't Ecatel's support forum. But people can have a "speech freedom", I think. Also it is REALLY very uncomfortable for a customer to see that there are no answers in support tickets. I do understand that you've got lots of customers, but try to understand customer's feelings, please. I always liked (and even loved) Ecatel and argued with everyone that was swearing Ecatel here.. but now you are not willing to work with me. That's a pitty

Posted by bear, 05-29-2009, 03:48 PM
And since the issue this was opened for appears to be resolved, let's close this.
