None of our servers are down, however most of them just got put through a PHP recompile updating our PHP5 interpreter to 5.2.10, in order to meet PCI compliance. Some issues during the cPanel update process caused some of the servers undergoing the update to fail at the end of the recompile, causing the problem with .php extensions. The affected servers were placed on our PHP4 build as default while PHP5 is rebuilt on each server, therefore most sites should be available unless they are experiencing PHP4 difficulties with their sites. All tickets submitted should have been answered already and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding in this matter. We are submitting our findings to cPanel in hopes that other providers don't go through the same hassle at some point in time. This was a routine update that hasn't caused any problems like this beforehand. Last edited by diligent; 08-09-2009 at 09:29 PM.

Yup, been having problems with my site too and according to cPanel's server status page /tmp/ drive is full, which leads (of course) to problems. So far the site has been working pretty good tho, but noticed this morning, when i was going to update few things, that everything wasn't alright. I can't even log in to client area on the diligenthost site, so i can't file a support ticket. Gotta email them about the issues in a bit. Attached Images dili.png (2.7 KB, 15 views)

This is the first time we've had any issues with our PHP interpreter, meaning .php sites specifically. If you have had any issues it was most likely isolated as we've not heard of any problems like this, please let us know next time you experience this. Any other time PHP was updated, cPanel took care of it properly and updated as required, but in this case the cPanel provided tool to update PHP failed us, which is what caused the issue in the first place. We've notified cPanel of the problem so they can update their software accordingly. The full /tmp/ drive has been solved, seems the recompiles caused /tmp/ to fill up and no other temporary files could be placed, and because our website's server undergone the same recompiles, this would be why you couldn't login to the billing/support section (/tmp/ couldn't be written to). This happened over time (filling of /tmp) meaning it was hours after the recompile, we were only notified of the issue until reading this now on WHT. Things are running smoothly again, back to normal and we appreciate everyone's input on the situation. Last edited by diligent; 08-10-2009 at 11:57 AM.

I apologize Diligenthost. It appears it was firefox causing the problem. I just switched to it from IE when I joined your hosting service in may, and that's when the php issues started. I just tested it in other browsers IE and Opera, and its working fine now.

No need to apologize I was just hoping there wasn't an outstanding issue that we weren't aware of! Good to know it's all sorted
