Freedns Afraid.org Down? Any news?

Is anyone else suffering a total outage of afraid.org and freedns.afraid.org? All nameservers appear to be down, their site is down, and my domains are totally unresolvable. There was a hiccup yesterday, but today it's been down for at least half and hour. Is there an alternate site where I can find info on what's going on? Anyone have info?

Some of my sites are down as well due to afraid.org

They might be under a DDOS attack like we were earlier in the week, sadly.

Are there alternative freedns services out there so I can spread mine out. I'm currently only using afraid.org and single points of failure are not good.

Has been down for a few hours now. Even their new IPs aren't responding. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Seems to be back now. "freedns.afraid.org is currently experiencing unexpected levels of traffic this AM, sorry for any inconvenience."

yeh i noticed that a couple sites werent loading also, so i pinged afraid.org and didn't receive a response

yup. kinda Gutted i had to go with another host. i also have a backup DNS Server with dyndns now

We're under a DDOS attack too I feel bad for them, it sucks being in these shoes.

What are you doing to stop it or slow it down? Appliances? Scripts? Both?

http://gratisdns.dk however english translation of the service is not complete so you might need to use Google Translate or similar Another alternative is http://quickdns.dk - Google Translate may be neccessary as well.
