We ordered this package Monday 23rd @ 18.34 GMT, got the details Yesterday at 11.30am. We paid extra for plesk and the server did not come installed with it or info that we had to perform the install. We started to install IIS ready for plesk install and the server went off and also their website is off. We moved from a vps with volumedrive to these guys, what does it take to find a good reliable windows vps host? We have linux servers in Manchester but not windows at the moment so this was for a few of our techs to use for testing until we get out VMware servers rolled out. Also the disk was only 30gb not 60gb as below. Not happy.... 60 GB Space <- DOUBLED 768MB Guaranteed RAM 5000GB Bandwidth <- WHT customers only 3 Dedicated IP Addresses Windows & Linux Available FREE We have tried to contact them with no response for over 38 Hrs this is our last option sadly Ping [diverseweb.co.uk] Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Bad destination Average time over 10 pings: 0 ms

They seem to have been down from around Aug. 25 3PM EST time. Can't seem to get any WHOIS info on their domain either... Hopefully they will fix their issues soon or make WHOIS information available.

Posted by Dan-CKS, 08-26-2010, 02:39 AM
i am sure with regards to the whois. in there case it cannot be hidden. Because there a business/Sole trader

Posted by NameVictor, 08-26-2010, 04:31 AM
If it's a .co.uk domain they can not hide their Whois information if it is used for any form of business. If you report it to nominet they will remove the Whois privacy.

Posted by PrestonHost_Jon, 08-26-2010, 06:13 PM
Looked up WHOIS on nominet: Seems they haven't registered their domain as a business?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 08-26-2010, 07:10 PM
That isnt a problem realy. the main problem is there hiding there address..

Posted by corey123, 08-27-2010, 11:39 AM
so... what im getting from all this with no whois info is that they ripped us off ? thats great!

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-02-2010, 01:55 AM
Hes lieing Jon Notice the following: IP's of the dns are similiar Both WHOIS registrants are from doncaster. Both say UK individual Both hosted at hostnoc the signature is exactly the same (Except the url's)

Posted by PrestonHost_Jon, 09-02-2010, 09:17 AM
This is the number that was listed with a PayPal transaction between them and I. +44 1143602394

Posted by iand, 09-02-2010, 02:01 PM
^^^ isnt a doncaster dialing code but then again that proves nothing as i can get a vonage number from anywhere in uk

Posted by Andrew Moore, 09-03-2010, 03:57 PM
Really? No affiliation with Diverseweb? I was going to buy some RAM he had for sell in the hosting hardware section, Let's look at the paypal money request shall we? Is this guy sure he's not affiliated with the company? Needless to say i never bought it, After i seen 'diverseweb' i never proceeded

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-03-2010, 04:02 PM
Is he called malcolm or mark? lol this guy is a major fraudster.

Posted by Andrew Moore, 09-03-2010, 04:07 PM
Don't know, It was Malcolm in all the PM's. This is an interesting FAQ though. Company meaning Diverseweb.

Posted by anon-e-mouse, 09-03-2010, 05:49 PM
Neither

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-03-2010, 05:53 PM
Do you know his "Real" name or is it just diverse web (WHOIS Record)

Posted by vps_mike, 09-07-2010, 11:37 PM
i bought several vps from this guy then i bought 2 more and 3 days went bye never recieved them so then mark said he was waiting on ip addresses Hi Mike, Well the VPS's are already setup but just awaiting the IP addresses before I can send the details so hopefully not longer than a couple more hours. Kind regards Mark. ---------------------------------------------- Ticket ID: #154532 Subject: Transaction ID: 8M443874NF743810H Status: Answered then after another 24 hrs i asked for a refund mark said he would refund my money when malcom came online Hi Mike, Sure, I will get them refunded as soon as Malcolm comes online for you. Kind regards Mark. ---------------------------------------------- Ticket ID: #154532 Subject: Transaction ID: 8M443874NF743810H Status: Answered then there site went down well i had 13 vps here so i went to paypal and disputed the last order for the 2 vps i never recieved this was marks responce to paypal 8/26/2010 16:19 PDT - Seller: The user was paying for web hosting services, after several emails to the client informing him that using HACKING TOOLS on his VPS's is against our TOS he continued to do so. Doing this caused our service provider, Burst.net to close all our servers down including our corporate site diverseweb.co.uk. This user was in direct violation of our terms of service, a cached page of our tos can be found by searching google for diverseweb.co.uk/terms.html We tried to reach a resolution with the clients but they continued to breach the terms, which in effect caused our entire business to be shut down by our provider. lol so i disputed all my transactions with him and his crooked co. and what do ya know i won and got back $100 from him lol so guys im very sorry it looks like i got him and his whole company shut down by hosting a few sites on his vps lmao

Posted by Andrew Moore, 09-08-2010, 12:19 AM
Maybe we can hear from BurstNET regarding this? I'm pretty sure i just keyword alerted them so maybe we will hear something from them. I just don't see BurstNET shutting down numerous servers because of (1) server.

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-08-2010, 01:24 AM
LOL 1 customer got a whole business shut down? what type of business was he running on 1 server? lol it reminds me of the island data center incident a few months back.

Posted by BurstNET_CSM, 09-08-2010, 09:49 AM
Hmmm.... I'm going to give diverseweb exactly ten minutes to provide the real reason why their sites are down. Otherwise, I will. I will state now that they have no abuse alerts on any of their servers with us (Unless they have another account with us I am not aware of).

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-08-2010, 10:06 AM
wasnt it because the guy was using someone elses name or something like that?

Posted by BurstNET_CSM, 09-08-2010, 10:22 AM
Okay. Since diverseweb does not want to step up and tell the truth, and instead put out lies that we suspended servers due to abuse (Unless, again, they have multiple accounts with us and I don't know of it), I guess it's up to me to tell the truth: They have not paid us for their services since August 14th, and we suspended their servers. None of their servers have an abuse alert on them, so that reason is an outright lie unless they can prove otherwise. So, there's your truth. Let's see what happens next.

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-08-2010, 10:29 AM
Can you confirm there name or not (First name will be fine) ive herd about 4 different names hes used...

Posted by BurstNET_CSM, 09-08-2010, 10:46 AM
Sorry, but I have given only what I needed to give.We consider our client's info private (Even those that are not paying for what they owe), and I only offered what I needed so as to confront the untruth.

I did some quick google search about this host back in August, and found out he was selling his diverse web vps business on ebay! Thought he sounded very fishy. At that time, his username fast_fusion was temporarily disabled on wht too, anyone know why? Also, his ebay item listed his dedicated specs. It was clear he was falsely advertising raid on his vps, as all his dedicated servers had single drives. He is probably using pirated windows licenses too, as no mention of that on his cost breakdowns. Also, he does say he runs everything on his own, so his tickets are using fake names. anyway, the screenshots i saved is here: http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/5822/46928290.jpg http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/2938/37712204.jpg

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-09-2010, 06:09 AM
Doesnt look like anyone was interested in his "Business" Nvm i wouldnt be interested if he was only making $83 profit... What a scammer he is!

Posted by vps_mike, 09-10-2010, 02:45 PM
lol thanks BurstNet for that info i was sure it was something like that and i won my paypal dispute i couldnt believe it but i did and got back my money from him so i came out good lol

OK, just to jump in with a bit of information, and it pains me to do this, but here goes: I've spoken to Malcolm on a few occasions after he offered a free PSD to XHTML coding in the design offers forum. Never one to turn down a bargain, I worked with Malcolm whilst he coded a page or two for us. We got along fine for quite a while and he did do some great work for us. Then, we hit a few snags. We had a few issues with fonts not displaying properly, images out of alignment etc etc. Nothing major, but then contact ceased. Every time we tried to contact him via email or live chat, either the chat was ignored, or I would speak to his 'brother' Mark, who advised that he would get Malcolm to contact us. Soon it became clear that the results weren't going to come. Live chat was always offline etc, no replies to emails. However, I'll just clear a few things up: 1. fast_fusion is definately Malcolm (or whatever his name actually is) 2. Mark is apparently his brother, and its a family run business (apparently) 3. Malcolm apparently works in a call centre during the day, and this is just a part time thing. 4. Malcolm was always reccomending that we buy servers from some unknown company, based in Hong Kong, because they were so cheap. We politely declined. I wish all his previous customers the very best of luck finding a new host.

What an appalling company (if can call them a company!) on the plus side we initiated a paypal claim and now we have our money back.

Posted by Dan-CKS, 09-13-2010, 05:26 PM
Dear Daniel **** We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favour. We were able to recover 7.50 GBP Result
