Just went to their site to think about purchasing another domain.. down too.. not cool, but with godaddys 'extremely persistent email marketing' and whatnot, don't think il be leaving very soon lol.

I want to purchase a domain name besides making changes to my current ones but this downtime ruined everything...

Still down... You would think a company the size of NameCheap could put a page up letting us know what is going on. The site died right after I clicked submit!

Well, they said it's scheduled maintenance but it's taking more than 45 minutes already, contradicts the estimated time given. http://twitter.com/namecheap

True, but I was on the site for almost 30 mins and there was no notification on the site regarding maintenance. Is a static HTML page really asking too much?

It appears the window has already went far beyond 10-15 minutes as they quote on twitter. This day in age I can't imagine taking a company as known as namecheap completely offline to do work. They have apparently never heard of lans where you can do modifications without being in real-time and simply take a few moments to move the content around. I wonder if their backend(s) are down as well.

I can browse Namecheap fine from here, maybe its back online for everyone else as well.

This was scheduled maintenance for a core router upgrade.
