WiredTree VPS down again

Posted by wirefusemedia, 12-31-2010, 07:06 PM
I think this would be the 4th consecutive downtime incident we have had at WiredTree this month, our VPS is down. We have a dedicated server at Gigenet ready to go, hopefully the server will come back online soon so we can be gone of WiredTree. Wiredtree isn't the same company it used to be. The great customer service and reliability, honestly over the past few months it all went to the craphole. More so, if this is not a network issue, then WiredTree will refuse to issue us 1 cent of credit because it isn't in their "Uptime SLA". It doesn't matter anyway since I already submitted a cancellation request, only thing our server is set to go offline on January 4th and not right now in the middle of the afternoon. Thanks WiredTree for your spectacular service...again....

We don't have any infrastructure down, nor is our network down. There may be an issue with your specific server though, so please open a ticket.

They just replied: Can you believe that? Are they trying to sabotage me? I mean this is one of the most serious mistakes you could possible make as an ISP. As I said earlier our VPS was supposed to go offline on January 4th and they decided to pre-cancel it a couple days before then. That is simply unbelievable and speaks more so for the kind of service you can expect at WiredTree. Transferring my sites now before any more "incidents" occur.

If you'd like me to look into the ticket to help, let me know. Next time it may be best to wait for a response from us before posting on WHT if you're looking for help.

I can relate to your experiences NanoCow. Following a 32 hour outage last month caused by a hardware failure on one of their "enterprise-class" managed hybrids that has cost me thousands of dollars in lost clients, I was told that I was only entitled to 1 hour's compensation ($10) as the network had been down for less than 1 hour. As a "courtesy" they were going to increase this to 5 hours ($50) but that can only be credited against a full month so I would need to pay another $50 to get $50 credit which is all a bit academic as I've canceled my hosting with them. Personally I am disgusted by their attitude and their reference to this major outage as an "inconvenience". Zac was copied on my emails to their billing department re the SLA claim but chose not to reply or comment. Their support response time was generally very good and some of the support team were very helpful (others less so) but I'm very happy not to have to deal with Wiredtree any more and am now enjoying much improved performance with ServInt. Hope you managed to sort out your issues am had a successful migration.
