VPSSquad VPS down for 3 days

Posted by GreenYoda2000, 01-26-2011, 03:51 AM
I had a VPS with VPSSquad go down more than 3 days ago. I tried to reboot from control panel, no joy, so opened a ticket 3 days ago. About a day later I got a "We'll look into it" reply but nothing since. I asked Support for an update, no reply. I asked Sales to look into it, no reply, and there's no number to call. Anyone else have similar issues, and any ideas on how else to contact, or is it time to look for a new provider? I have several servers with them, and this is uncharacteristically poor service. But I opened the tickets and updated them in the Customer Portal, so I know they've got the tickets. Moving all my servers from them would be a big pain, but if they were going out of business or something like that, I think I'd rather know now....

If you were hosted at Alphen a/d Rijn, Netherlands - you are like everyone else who received a resold hosting plan through a provider. There was a hack at that datacenter to a major reseller (ServeDome, Constellation Servers, etc. search on here for more stories) and data was destroyed. I was with ServeDome and haven't got any response from them except confirmation this weekend that my data was destroyed on my VPS. VPS Squad appears to be a cut and paste from my reseller provider by offering German web hosting and the Netherlands VPS. I haven't got any response from them or notification about the service being reinstated. I fear this may have happened to you. Domain was registered 21 Aug 2009 and has private WHOIS information.. not a very good sign. No phone number visible on the site either.. Last edited by bsdvps; 01-26-2011 at 05:11 AM. Reason: phone number addition

>>> If you were hosted at Alphen a/d Rijn, Netherlands It's a US server so probably not that hack, but I do wonder if it may be something similar, as the lack of response is very eery....

I had one server - just cancelled it today. I had serious issues with their "technical" "support" - it's almost impossible to get in touch. At the end of December I asked them simple question regarding printing invoices... they deleted my ticket. Then at 3rd Jan I raised another ticket asking why my ticket was deleted - that ticket has been closed without any reply. At 3rd Jan I had similiar (like many people) problems with DE colocation, raised a ticket... and ticket has been closed unanswered too. Two days later I raised another ticket (server was still unavailable) mentioning that server is still unavailable and asking why my prevoius tickets were closed unanswered - and got rude reply (not answers to my questions!). At 21. Jan I reminded them about existence of those issues. Got no reply. Today I sent them service cancellation request - and this ticket has been closed without reply too! (and my previous one, of course) So please, take your data and money elsewhere. Best regards, Former VPS Squad client PS I have registered an account here only to share my horror story - sad, isn't?
