Posted by lemon09, 02-17-2011, 05:39 AM
My server is also unreachable. tracepath ends at Global Crossing IP.

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 05:42 AM
My Hivelocity server is also unreachable. Can't load the Hivelocity website either. Bad times From Hull, United Kingdom.

My server (which was recently moved to their new facility) is down as well

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 05:46 AM
Trace Route: Definitely looks like the datacentre itself then?...

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 05:47 AM
Yeap my few IPs are down. When I contacted their support got a pre-defined bot message "Our admins are checking the issue and it will be soon fixed"

Posted by onefunsite, 02-17-2011, 05:49 AM
Me too. My server with dozens of sites is down. I can't even load up hivelocity.net from my location. Gothenburg, Sweden

Posted by kriscell, 02-17-2011, 05:56 AM
Same here. Can't seem to access the server.

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 05:57 AM
Even the Hivelocity blog is down, as if they host it within the same datacentre. Does anyone know of a page they might have online with updates of whats happening?

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 05:58 AM
My two servers are still online on the same datacenter (shifted in first batch) but others are down.

Posted by Daniel15, 02-17-2011, 05:59 AM
Looks like it's back now... I just got an uptime notification from Pingdom for my server Edit: ... and it's back down for me now.

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 06:00 AM
Unfortunately mine is still down

Posted by onefunsite, 02-17-2011, 06:00 AM
There's twitter.com/hivelocity but it doesn't seem they're using that channel to communicate with us right now.

Posted by Daniel15, 02-17-2011, 06:01 AM
It was up for about 30 seconds for me, it's down again now

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 06:07 AM
Oh! I wish it could be a network issue not the power or otherwise my database will be screwed again

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 06:13 AM
I'm guessing network. My website had a severe network slow-down in the 20 minutes building upto having no access. I was using it this morning - literally taking 60 seconds to load a web page.

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 06:16 AM
Are we midst of DoS Attack? Few days back it happened with BURST.NET also.

Posted by mpkapadia, 02-17-2011, 06:16 AM
2 of our servers are down over there . their network has been not good for the past month or so .

Posted by onefunsite, 02-17-2011, 06:17 AM
Has this happened before for you guys? I woke up yesterday to my server being up, but apache and mysql had shut down overnight. That has never happened to me before on hivelocity.

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 06:18 AM
Seems to be up and running for me!

Posted by Jack2k10, 02-17-2011, 06:20 AM
My server is down too, When will this get fixed?

Posted by Daniel15, 02-17-2011, 06:21 AM
This is how my monitoring has looked for my server over the past hour or so: http://i55.tinypic.com/4if1uo.png

Posted by ShockFire, 02-17-2011, 06:21 AM
Server has been accessible for the past couple of minutes. Hasn't been down for restart, so looks like it was a network issue.

Posted by onefunsite, 02-17-2011, 06:23 AM
Still not up for me. Neither hivelocity.net nor my own sites. Edit: Scratch that, I can now access my server. And it's fast as well.

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 06:29 AM
hmmm It seems I am the most unfortunate still not up...

Posted by onefunsite, 02-17-2011, 06:42 AM
Just saw this email in my inbox: Dear Valued Hivelocity Customers, We have to perform an emergency maintenance window on our Hsphere cluster. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our estimated downtime for this window will be on 2-17-2011 from 1:00AM to 5:00AM EST. Your servers should not be down the entire time. Total estimated downtime will be approximately 1.5 hours. We will send a notification once the system is back online. Best regards, Hivelocity.net Support Department

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 06:52 AM
Seems they have increased window size as it is almost nearing 6:00 AM mark.

Posted by ttgt, 02-17-2011, 06:56 AM
we do not get any mail like it...

Posted by Daniel15, 02-17-2011, 07:14 AM
My server's finally back, I'm getting normal network speeds to/from it. Hopefully it doesn't go down again!

Posted by scrapme, 02-17-2011, 07:17 AM
Finally back!

Posted by dahamsta, 02-17-2011, 07:30 AM
I have a customer server in with them, down from 0900-1030 GMT. manage.hivelocity.com still inaccessible from here. Trouble ticketing on their main site hanging.

Posted by dahamsta, 02-17-2011, 07:46 AM
manage.hivelocity.com is back now. A live chat with them basically patted me on the back and told me it'd all be fine. My customer'll do her nut, I just moved her in there and their network falls apart?

Posted by hivelocitygm, 02-17-2011, 11:00 AM
Hey Everyone, We did move over our Hsphere cluster as well as our manage.hivelocity systems to the new data center last night. Part of the process of moving server from one facility to another is setting up the routing and shifting the routing from dc1 to dc2. We had an issue with one of our Vlans last night which did affect some of the servers already moved over to the new DC. We apologize for those that were affected by this. The good news is our transition to our brand new data center is just about complete. We only have a few hundred servers left to move and that should be done next week. This has been a huge undertaking for us and for the most part, it has gone as smooth as we could have hoped...with only a few minor bumps in the road. Sorry for the delay in our explanation here btw.

With respect HiveolictyGM, you should have notified your users about possible downtime on manage.hivelocity, and a risk of other downtime. You should also have communicated with us /during/ the outage. The Twitter account STILL hasn't been updated, and the status page showed green all day. I'm not really interested in hearing about how lovely it all it's going for you, I need to know what's happening /as/ it's happening so I can pass that info along to my customers. Cop yourselves on, remember who's paying for that lovely new data center. Last edited by dahamsta; 02-17-2011 at 03:17 PM.

Is the transition over? My server is still down, should I submit a reboot ticket?
