imountain down once again

imountain used to be one of my favorite but seriously, the downtime is so frequent now, i feel am on wrecking ship. Its down once again. They had about 1hr+ downtime earlier this week and now once again. No one bothers to respond to emails. The emails I sent 1 week back are still unanswered. About time, I switch to another provider. Guys, check your servers.

one of my server is up but the other one is throwing 404 parallel errors across the board on all pages and sites. since they do not respond to my emails, not sure if they even aware of this issue. GOD oh GOD

Their main site is throwing up errors in the header which isn't exactly reassuring: http://www.imountain.com/ I do recall when I tried them a few years ago being very put off by the fact their datacentre seemed to offer very little in the way of redundancy, seemingly being fed by a single connection to the outside world, and the datacentre itself being quite unremarkable. If this is still the case it's not hard to imagine why downtime might be a regular issue. But at least it's solar-powered, right?

Yeah ryan. Its solar powered. Been their customer since 2008 so good 3+ years now. For the first 2 years their service was oustanding, simply the best out there. No downtime, excellent support (over email only coz they dont offer phone). However, last 1 year has been really awful. My dedicated server used to be slower than my shared, can you beat that? anyone recommend a good hosting with phone support and excellent uptime? money isnt a issue

As far as customer service and a general willingness to ensure your sites are rock solid and fast, the company that most immediately springs to mind is MediaLayer. They don't have phone support (it's not a particularly efficient way of dealing with issues, even if it gives the customer that immediate gratification that it's been looked into), but by and large that doesn't matter because their helpdesk support is so good. Research their reputation.

I would suggest in changing hosts, many hosts get took over by others and simply go down hill. The best thing to do is contact support, since you have already done so and no reply, there is nothing you can do apart from move. Get a back-up of your files and move to another provider, there are many hosts in the offers section, just do some research. Good luck!

Sounds like there may have been a change of ownership. I find that's typically what happens to local businesses - things either stay the same or get much, much worse and I stop visiting.
