SEMOWEB VPS Down

Posted by kimboy, 02-23-2012, 09:54 PM
Anyone here have vps down at semoweb my control panel say Node Slave6, I purchased this last week Feb 16 but already two downtime and now still offline, I lost my customer and have tried to ask billing immediate cancellation and refund but by TOS no refund to vps but what I can do if they can't manage and solve this problem my vps are still offline, and I don't talk here about money because this are 21 bucks but I talk why this don't work like I have paid for ? I don't want to see people with stable node here because I am happy customer too in another node but I already opened many and many tickets about issues in the past and I purchased this new vps to a customer him see unstable service and ask me to refund money paid for my services and I do this because I respect people and don't want to cheat anyone and have bad reputation some people and company don't care about this, so now I have one vps offline more than 16 hours...

Hello, Sorry about the issues you and others are currently facing on this machine, the machine has been undergoing an FSCK for since this morning. We have been working all day with HostDime to resolve this, we are doing everything in our power to get this machine online. We will have to wait on it to finish it's course to avoid damaging the file system. Additionally this is something out of our control, we do understand your frustration and would like for you to also open a billing ticket for SLA so that this can be applied. More updates will be provided as we get them, on the behalf of SemoWeb we send our deepest apologies for anyone located on this slave.

Hello Everyone, The FSCK is still on going, we are still working with the data center (HostDime) so that this is resolved ASAP. Thanks for your continued patience.

I am serious about that and I hope this change your mind semoweb about this if company don't work serious and I tell serious because what type of company don't have failover ? don't have another server to put in production asap ? I am in a test environment ? if so just put a not 'vps in test progress you do test for us and paid for' thanks

Sorry to hear about your situation.. I get why you'd be frustrated somethings can't be prevented it's always good to make backups just incase.. I do wish you some luck on your new vps and make sure to check out if they have money back guarantee. I've had some experience with that issue with few providers my self so I can feel what your going threw though.

Now I still losing all data. You make me cry. I could't backup in a short time becuase internet in my crountry to slowly. On semoweb salepage. Because our servers are on RAID-1 protected drives, with SemoWeb your data is safe even in the event of a hard drive failure because we use RAID proteced hardware.

Raid does not always protect your data, it can actually fail sometimes.

It can fail, but it's blindingly obvious when it does. If a host doesn't notice 50%iowait, and none of the clients do, that is a worrying thought.

Ignoring that it was not a hard disk failure? It was an FSCK, that is still on going, when the first FSCK occured 98% of containers were fine, the system then again is facing an on going FSCK thus we are creating NEW VPS on different servers to avoid the extended downtime, now you will need to periodically check your old vps to see if it comes back online after the on going FSCK, the data center ( HostDime ) is working very had to restore services so you the client (who never backed up your data) can hopefully recover them and move them to the new server. This is a BUDGET VPS and you really expect us to have backups? NO! Do we have RAID? YES! Was it a hard disk failure? NO! Read your e-mails slowly, and it may make sense.
