Cogent

FYI: Cogent is having problems throughout the US.

Yes it certainly seems that way. Looks intermittent.

12+ hours later and it's worse than ever...

*sigh*

What type of issues are you seeing, packet loss, latenancy?

I've been getting Pingdom alerts all day about packet loss. Haven't had any in a few hours because I changed my check time from one minute to five minutes, because they were getting so annoying.

I have about 10 boxes on pure cogent and nobody using them has complained at all. Odd.

There were not any 'widespread' issues -- no alerts or tickets on either coast for us either. Trust me we get tickets and alerts for anything more than 0.1% loss.

Probably just your provider having issues and blaming it on 'cogent'. Easy way out.

I haven't noticed any issues on Cogent. Everything looks fine for me.

No problems here either.

Cogent is fine today.

They reported a huge problem in Dallas on Sunday.

Yes, of course. That's what providers do, it's never Cogent's fault.

We also monitor some servers in VA on Cogent and they were down for well over an hour Sunday morning AM.

Everything is back to normal today, but there was definitely issues with Cogent. I'll be happy to paste some of the traceroutes from Pingdom if you really need proof... This guy (#5) shows up in every report:

No problems this week for us (we're in both Ashburn VA and San Diego).

You guys are right about sunday though after I check logs; our FCP device automatically switched cogent out so nobody noticed, including me.
