ifusehosting down

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 03:09 AM
Guys, Ifusehosting is down 8 hours now, and I didn't receive any information yet, does anybody knows what's happening?

Posted by qbellc, 08-30-2009, 05:40 AM
I have signed up for an account with them yesterday, paid invoice and yet have to receive server login details.

Hope they will be back soon!

Down for me too.

Not only my sites but their own frontppage and the support site.

Worrying.

Will speak to Dan on MSN now and send him this way

Hello,

Just to update we've been working on this through the night and expect to be back at around 2pm GMT - we've had some detected network infiltration on our DNS network, as servers are not setup to be secure to each other we've had to turn off servers for ns1 and ns2 to deal with the issue and further ensure that there is no chance of backups for this server being compromised. We have replacement equipment being setup as I type this out, we'll also be carrying out security assessment for the rest of the Linux network due to the nature of the breach. Our staff are available via phone (08443577444), and email - email enquiries@ifusegroup.com as I can guarantee that mailbox is not affected by current outage. As far as I am aware there is no data loss on any account, and account backups are not affected.

iFuseHosting.com is hosted on the same network (obviously different server), so we too are affected by this outage.

Windows hosting, dedicated and VPS customers are not affected by this outage.

Good to hear it Dan, but I think that you should have e-mailed this note asap when the server went down. It would be a good idea to keep a newsletter for clients out of the server to get us informed.

Hello Dan,

I know it's currently not a top priority, but do you have any ETA when new signups will be processed?

We ordered reseller account yesterday...

Thanks, Dejan.

I see it's still down

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 12:49 PM
Yeah it's still down

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 01:09 PM
I'm a bit disappointed. No e-mails saying what's going on or anything. And 2 PM GMT was four hours ago.

But I know they're working very hard to get things up, and things are always very reliable- so I can't really complain.

It's quite disapointed because the last two months there are often outraged

How do u mean ?

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 01:28 PM
That's true. Two weekends ago we were down from 12 AM EST to 7 AM EST. That's seven hours.

Though, that was from a DDoS attack so you can't really blame them for that.

I'm considering switching to a VPS. Doesn't seem to have nearly as many problems.

Sorry for the double post. Looks like the servers are up but the files are missing. Hopefully they're restoring things?

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 02:50 PM
my site isn't responding yet..

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 02:50 PM
Their site is up. http://ifusehosting.com

All my domains are up, but no files on them.

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 02:54 PM
SQL is down..

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 03:06 PM
I'm sure they're working hard on everything, but it's been 20 hours... ugh.

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 03:08 PM
I hope that we wont have any files lost + no outages in the future..

Better get that fixed. Anyone with an account can bring the whole thing down.

One of those should be on different network

I think you mean outage - and yes there have been lots of outages.

Tried asking but about why but have not had replies.

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 03:14 PM
They told me about dDos attacks in the past

What a contrast with all the positive reviews going on here on WHT

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 03:29 PM
They were quite good in the past, when i first received my account details, they had 240+ days uptime

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 03:34 PM
I've never had problems with iFuse until the last few weeks. First time was DDoS attack and now this...

I know every host runs into problems, but what angers me is that their website is up but ours obviously can't seem to be.

Oh wait, I spoke too soon. Now I'm receiving a blank page on theirs too.

Wonderful.

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 03:39 PM
down again grgrgrgrgr

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 03:52 PM
Their site is up, but mine's still down. This is getting to be a bit much. We could at least have some updates!

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 04:04 PM
Sites are up!

Posted by iNCubO, 08-30-2009, 04:21 PM
Yes but many sites of me are facing SQL errors..

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 04:25 PM
Yep, same here. I also have a directory missing. Hmm...

Posted by Trevor Brandt, 08-30-2009, 04:38 PM
This is odd. My community's forum is up, but in cPanel it says "There are no databases associated with your account".

Its actually quite common here that the well-reviewed hosts have severe outages and/or massive data loss. Go figure.

Posted by iFuseDan, 08-30-2009, 04:47 PM
Just to clarify,

When I said servers arent secure to eachother I was refering exclusively to the DNS servers - as there is alot of inter-server traffic coming from multiple platforms (cPanel / plesk / windows etc) so there are quite a few custom wrappers and the like.

Whilst we had this outage, we've also taken the time to replace hardware in a number of shared boxes (both windows and linux) although unanounced it seemed the perfect opportunity seeing as servers would appear down regardless.

We have taken steps to prevent further DNS issues, and are also are taking steps to isolate and add additional redundancy for these, including more replication and distribution.

We are also aware of recent performance issues with 2 of our shared boxes that have caused complaint, these have had a number of hardware changes to hopefully resolve any hardware side of that. Additional software is being put into place including load balancing for larger sites so that large traffic bursts do not interfere with the operating performance of other clients websites.

If you have any further questions or comments please feel free to update this thread, email / PM myself or contact our live support.

Kind Regards,
