Cubichost.org down

Posted by Sani147, 10-16-2009, 03:14 PM
Hi guys

Its been over 7 hours that my VPS with Cubichost is down along with their main site. Looks like they are on the run again .....

Anyone know how to reach them???

This thread might get some answers from their representative here. Since their website is down, I don't know how to reach them.

Same as here.. We have no choice other than waiting..

Have you tried using the whois contact info? http://whois.domaintools.com/cubichost.org

Posted by MikeTrike, 10-16-2009, 04:29 PM
I thought they just recovered recently from issues?

Posted by RSkeens, 10-16-2009, 05:09 PM
Did you possibly learn from last time and make backups? Sorry to hear about the downtime.

Posted by muqti, 10-16-2009, 05:26 PM
I'll get the refund ASAP

hi,

tried the whois contact....no answer. i spoke to him on messenger today.

he told me the datacenters number was disconnected. i don't believe that for a fraction of a second. anyone paying a datacenter bill has a phone that is always on.

i basically don't use my 3 vps accounts. i use them like....maybe 1 time a month...and downtime is basically irrelavant to me.....but this particular down time is crushing my world right now.

hi,

....turns out they don't give a crap either. they are a class c management and my nodes are not on their edge. they are providing the whole 208.169.228.0-255 address space to a further provider which they cant provide information on. the only thing they can do is initiate a circuit request from the class c block upward to a backbone. investigating further.

kevin

Posted by hostydotnet, 10-17-2009, 05:21 AM
...intiating a circuit inquiry on the whole netblock with them.

Posted by hostydotnet, 10-17-2009, 05:45 AM
hi,

i have initiated a request from the top down(starting at savvis....down to the data center) to look at the ips asscociated with my vps's and informed them that everyone under cubithost is down including cubic host.

Just to update everyone on the current status.

Right now, our main server is down as you know. This includes our website, as well as VPS clients, dedicated server clients are not affected.

We have no real information regarding the problem and as soon as our datacenter tech transits to the datacenter, brings the server back up, we will most likely set up a KVM over IP + Remote Reboot Port to make problems like this impossible to happen again. We also have looked into another provider who can provide a similar deal but has a much better reputation. Depending on what our current provider is willing to work out and how fast they are going to bring our server back online we may or may not move right away. If not, we will have a KVM, as well as an offsite backup to prevent data loss and be able to provide clients access to their backups if they decide to leave. On top of that we are going to put a % aside in case we need to move to that provider with short notice. Currently our budget was all on this server and all our proceeds went towards it leaving us tied up with the provider and unable to leave.

Stay tuned, I will update this thread as soon as we get our server online, or have any more information regarding what happened.

muqti, the problem is that mail relies on our server being up (since MX records are on our DNS which point to google apps (the best mail provider in my opinion))

Can you please INSTANT message me. cubicnow on aim or yahoo. or MSN at the address you posted.

Can a moderator edit the last post to obfuscate the address please?

Can I also get a refund ???

I dont think I will like to continue after seeign the way you are handlign this situation.

Posted by ccc353, 10-17-2009, 04:00 PM
We sure will refund, can you please INSTANT message me?

Just be aware we are going to be moving to another provider most likely next month. One that provides 24/7 support (including reboot requests) which would prevent this from happening. The server that we are moving to is also a bit faster ( according to passmark ). DDR3 RAM instead of DDR 2, as well as a quad core core i7. Also an amazingly fast network; looking forward to working with this provider.

Hello,
I do think that Cubic Host is handeling this better then most, There are several hosts who vanish without giving refunds or fail communicate with their customers. In ths case I dont see that not happeneing

Posted by ccc353, 10-18-2009, 10:55 AM
KDisk, I do appreciate your support in this. It is unfortunate that a company such as cubichost, can be brought to its knees because of a server downtime where the provider happens to not have 24/7 personnel to help in such cases and it puts us in a waiting position with nothing else we can do. I did get a response from our provider this morning, and he stated he would get the server online shortly. So sometime today is what I am hoping for. Lets cross our fingers

Up at the crack of dawn this morning in anticipation of our server being brought back online as promised by our provider. Sure enough the server is up; updated dns records of cubichost.org back to the server (instead of landing page), as dns updates you will be able to access the website; you should already have access to your vps, and all other accounts (whm/cpanel).

Posted by ccc353, 10-22-2009, 05:29 PM
after much anticipated uptime, the server has gone down again. I beleive the server is still on, however the network is experiencing difficulties. The providers website, as well as another clients server is also down. If this isn't fixed quickly, and to be the last time it happens, I'm thinking of selling Cubichost.org

Posted by ccc353, 10-22-2009, 05:31 PM
I have a feeling our provider is under DDoS attack. I believe this because our server is still responding to ping (with VERY high percentage of packet loss (90% or more)). Will keep you posted.

Posted by hostydotnet, 10-22-2009, 05:39 PM
hi,

i think you just need to learn how to manage a server better....and quickly. there are plenty of people that will take your money in exchange for help. my advice is get some help.

kevin

Posted by ccc353, 10-22-2009, 07:38 PM
the outage was short-lived, about half hour off and on. packet loss was around 90% for that duration.

Posted by hostydotnet, 11-22-2009, 01:58 PM
hi,

had refund problems also. i just took matters into my own hands. open up a claim for a shipped item then escalate it.

additionally. cubic host is redesigning under a new domain which is supposed to be completely anonymous. however i know what the domain is and when he is done doing all of this work i will put the data out there to help shut him back down for good and prevent others from falling into this company.

All timestamps are Central Time. It seems Mr Kevin could not understand a few things:

1) Funds are not available for refund, DESPITE this I offered him a partial refund for the amount he paid, less the amount of the cpanel license which is non-refundable.
2) we have an initial 14-day return policy, as outline in our terms of service that is agreed to by registering and ordering service. During downtime, credit is given for every day without service, DESPITE this I was willing him to refund him the amount that we didn't send for the cpanel license
3) Mr kevin was receiving 3 VPS, 4 IPs, PLUS a $15 cpanel license for $30 per month. Thats $5 per VPS. Since the 3rd VPS was added a couple months later, he only paid $25 the last TWO times. In asking for a refund he was asking for ALL of the amount, which we already paid for his cpanel license at $15. His billing date had been changed. And he was offered the partial refund for the full amount of service that we received payment for besides the external overhead costs.
4) Mr Kevin explicitly lied to paypal, completely fabricating a claim. Claim as shown below.
5) in continued harassment from Mr Kevin, he has called me a child, a thief, and a liar. Not sure when I ever lied, or when I was thieving, but I think we can all see who the liar is.
6) the fact that there is a new brand coming out is true. I have developed a website for a new company and am honored to be part of the project. The decision to not disclose the project details are due to the un-relation between cubichost, and the new entity.

(11:10:12 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: and when exactly is that going to be
(11:12:15 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: well word has it (and im not 100% certain that our provider is going to) that we are getting our server shipped to us so we can co-locate it elsewhere. My partner is going to put in $100, and I am going to somehow come up with a similar amount to put towards service at new provider. Within a couple days of the server being activated, we should have received some invoice payments
(11:12:43 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: doood...that is going to be like 3 weeks
(11:12:46 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: so, a long estimate, and the number your looking for, 2 weeks
(11:12:53 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: 3 weeks is a long shot
(11:12:53 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: not cool
(11:13:02 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: that is too long to wait
(11:13:04 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: your data is also intact
(11:13:05 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: for a refund
(11:13:09 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: i don't want my data
(11:13:11 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: i don't need it
(11:13:13 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: you can have it
(11:13:19 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: what i want is the refund
(11:14:00 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: so what you can do is process the refund regardless of what your balance is

(11:15:09 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: My mouth is full

(11:16:40 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: bull crap
(11:16:43 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: you can
(11:16:47 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: and you know it
(11:16:59 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: im going to give you 10 minutes to think it over
(11:17:04 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: and then im calling my cc compnay

(11:21:11 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: go right into paypal and go to the last payment and refund it
(11:21:19 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: whats your paypal address
(11:21:25 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: qdoggmets@hotmail.com
(11:21:30 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: or support@zamfoo.com
(11:22:34 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: remember your payments were behind anyways. cpanel subscription (being the biggest factor), was few days before each month that you paid
(11:22:48 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: you also got 2 months courtesy of the 3rd (64 bit) vps of $5
(11:23:04 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: process the last payment
(11:23:10 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: no partials
(11:23:13 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: So between all that, I need to withhold $15 of this payment as the non-refundable cpanel license
(11:23:27 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: if that won't be enough and you will chargeback anyways, then that is the route you will need to take
(11:23:34 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: not good enough
(11:23:36 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: $10 i can refund
(11:23:36 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: $10 i can refund

(11:23:45 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: if thats not enough tell me now
(11:23:54 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: its not enough
(11:24:01 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: do the whole thing or i will do them all
(11:24:12 AM) hostydotnet@hotmail.com: and claim it as fraud
(11:24:15 AM) c.diz.my.niz@gmail.com: Dude your like trying to rob a homeless guy of his cardboard box

hi,

mr kevin hasn't recieved anything this month as you have had virtually 100percent down time.

the 3 vps are miminal server hardware resources and it is not my problem if you set your price at 5.00.

yes. i want the refund for the licenses you sold me that i can't use.

you told everyone that you had moved providers. you never moved providers. that makes you a liar.

you have taken money for services you are not providing and will not provide timely refunds regardless of what the reason is. that also makes you a thief.

the branding of the new company is serverhitch.com.

everyone stay away from this company or your website will fall into the same problems you had with cubichost.

the conversation is snipped and edited to his liking. some of the items said to me have been removed and replaced. if you would like a copy of the real conversation please contact me.

kevin

kevin, you are the only person that has had a "notable" problem with cubichost enough for you to throw a tantrum and cause a stir. I am reasonable with all customers, you were offered a refund of $10, that is $25 less the $15 cpanel license.

The conversation I posted is a 100% of the original conversation saved from pidgin. The following harassment after the "have a nice day" was not included since I already saved the log. Why would he say "contact me directly", just ridiculous. I don't think you are going to fool anyone kevin.

I even disclosed information to the community that I would have otherwise kept private, but I figured if a reader is going to be viewing such a dispute, why not let them see 100% of the story.

Also, I did not lie about moving providers. We switched our IPs to another provider, in anticipation of migrating all user data along with it. No lie.

Mr Kevin, I am younger than you, less financially fortunate than you (as you have personally "flossed" about regarding your income from developing the zamfoo master reseller software), and drink less alcohol than you ( none ) but I am not even going to lie to anyone here, as you are.

I guess it goes to show what greed can do to a person. Making Mr Kevin defame another, less fortunate individual by means of lying.

Just digging through WHT (find all posts by hostydotnet) and found this.

I guess its safe to say Mr Kevin is not the most fair and reasonable fellow.

I posted the entire conversation from the first message I received from you, through the time I said "have a nice day" anticipating the end of the conversation. That segment of the conversation is 100% accurate and unchanged. I copied it directly from mozilla where I opened html file that was saved via pidgin.

After that, you continued to harass me, saying a few things, and of course I said a few things back, some of which would not be appropriate for public display.

A cpanel license is a direct expense of business; you could have always got your own cpanel license seperate from your service with me, or at any time asked me to change the ip of your cpanel license. The cpanel license is your license once it is paid for, regardless of where it is hosted. It is an expense that we ourselves cannot recover and between the 28th (the day the license was renewed) until the 7th (when the server went down for the extended period) you have certainly had opportunity and cannot say you were without a license and expect a 100% refund from someone who is already in a bad position. If I had multiple servers and you were just one of a number of clients that were affected and business was not at a standstill and finances were okay, then I would probably offer you money out of my pocket to cover the cost of that un-recoverable fee as well.

Either way, you have really two options.
1) close the dispute and accept $10 of a refund out of my negative balance, or
2) lose the dispute at paypal, as well as be investigated and possibly frozen for a false claim

I rather do it the easy way, and not have to explain the situation to paypal.

Hello, my name is James and I would like to point out that this provider has been amazing throughout my entire lifetime of experience. Despite the downtime he has done everything physically possible to get our site back up. He has also kept me up to date on the latest information upon request. The datacenter he was using was starting to become less reliable which makes it extremely difficult to get anything done. He has made a major effort to try and satisfy you (the customers). He has switched to a new datacenter with remote reboot capabilities and 24/7 live support which leads me to believe that the rest of my experience with this provider will be better than ever before. I typed this up because I believe that he has been trying to do the right thing and I ask others not to judge harshly and to give him another chance.

hi,

i was nit picked and bargianed to death on my refund.

first i was only going to get 10. then he compromised some more to 15. then after a blow up, some name calling it was i was getting nothing.

then i released some information to the forums and then it was 10 again, 15, 15 and 2 months free hosting, 20, 15, 20, 25 and a zamfoo license. 25 and a discounted license to match whmphp.

i denied and stood fast on each turn.

then after all of that i finally got my 25.00 back that i was promised a week earlier.

so. every one...chance number 6 is a go. sign back up.

It's too bad that even 1 penny was refunded. The host probably just got tired of the whole thing.

Of course, there is always pot, kettle, black ...

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=899187

a thread about zamfoo.com aka hostydotnet

Ok, just cleaned up about a half dozen or more replies. Please keep to the subject in hand and don't flame each other.

Got tired of what?he was negotiating the refund with me, not the other way around.

We don't give refunds for trial licenses which is what that thread is about. How anyone can miss out on that fact while reading it is beyond me.

Who are you any way? You never used any of our services...ever
oh. Your part of the gang up just to gang up crew with no real point to make other than to bump the thread.

Kevin
