For around 4 hours now?
It says, unscheduled maintenance...
Probably due to bugs in their new design/interface.

I was trying to register few domains... Grrr!

Posted by plumsauce, 10-24-2009, 01:51 AM
backend or frontend?

Posted by BurakUeda, 10-24-2009, 02:00 AM
Front end.
Didn't check the back-end.

It says, scheduled maintenance now... :/

Posted by tanfwc, 10-24-2009, 02:19 AM
Ya, I saw the unscheduled maintenance and now it changed to scheduled maintenance too.

I need to change my nameservers now

Posted by BurakUeda, 10-24-2009, 04:33 AM
Wow!
They are down for 7 hours now.
There must be something serious.

Posted by pcaidit, 10-24-2009, 05:12 AM
Yeap, we have pending domain registrations, but our system is saying unable to connect to server.

Enoms main page could give more info then what is there at the moment. like a status update or something.

Posted by pcaidit, 10-24-2009, 05:29 AM
Error: An Error Occured
Could not connect to Server - Please try again later

Anyone have a contact number for eNom?

2nd large outage they have had in 2 weeks now, last week it was their API.

I think time to finally move Registrars, as not acceptable for a large Registrar to have this level of on going outage.

If it was a specific issue for this period and they were addressing it, I don't think it would be necessary as things do happen. However if you look at the history enom has had many outages over the past 2 years so I would agree with the moving registrars on that basis rather than on 1 single incident.

enom.com is down since yesterday! is this normal?

Posted by GigeWeb, 10-24-2009, 08:32 AM
I hope its not down on a regular basis. We resell domains through Enom so I hope we don't get any orders.

Scheduled maintenance,
as they had posted on there site & all PDQ for the last day or so,
I think it said Friday night to Saturday[or Sunday] night.

So no surprise, don't panic, even enom have to upgrade & maintain,
but they seem to do it, 99% of the time 'scheduled'.

Posted by syngadget, 10-24-2009, 09:46 AM
yup, that's right. enom is down for maintenance. they will be back shortly, of course.

hope that's clear.

Posted by IGXHost, 10-24-2009, 10:02 AM
Sure is a long maintenance though.

Posted by AdmoNet, 10-24-2009, 10:04 AM
Maybe they're moving data centers... It seems to be a system wide outage as API access is also affected.

Posted by pcaidit, 10-24-2009, 10:28 AM
Still down, this is starting to caulse us serious issues now with customers waiting for the domains to be registered.

I find that message in Enom Website, and also it happen when i want to fund my account.

You would just have to reprocess the orders afterward and let your new clients know what was going on. I don't think it'd really adversely affect your business unless you rely upon domain names to make your money.

enom is back online now. hope that's clear

That's why they told people in advance, It Was Scheduled, so we could work around it.
Maybe theres been some poor communication,
but for me I found it well managed, All up & running before 17.00 GMT.

Posted by pcaidit, 10-24-2009, 12:49 PM
Yeap all ok now and now accepting orders.

Posted by BurakUeda, 10-24-2009, 01:14 PM
Ridiculous!
Page said "scheduled maintenance", but I didn't receive any prior notice.
Obviously didn't receive after the outage.
Their website says nothing. Just like nothing happened.

I am done! Moving all the domains to NetEarthOne as soon as they are close to expiration.

They have had announcements on there site for weeks now..

Posted by designbuyers, 10-24-2009, 05:39 PM
The site working fine now.

Posted by manhal, 10-24-2009, 06:01 PM
seems back now!!, hopefully this long term maintenance does not happen again!

Posted by BurakUeda, 10-24-2009, 11:49 PM
How would I know?
Thankfully all the other providers I am in business with has a common sense about how to do business, and I don't have to visit the websites of each and everyone of them everyday to see if they are going to have a maintenance or not.
