ServerBear Launches Automated Server Benchmarking + Online Reports

Posted by serverbear, 07-24-2012, 06:41 PM
Hey guys, we've officially just launched ServerBear to the public. We provide no hassle Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS & Debian) benchmarking so you can compare your server to the rest of the market.

Running a benchmark is simple, provide your host & plan details & we'll give you a wget command to run as sudo on your box.

Our script will then run tests on the following:

System Information
Disk IO (4 variations of dd)
IOPS (4 variations of IOPS)
Network Efficiency (Testing download from 9 worldwide locations)
Tracert to CacheFly
Ping to CacheFly
UnixBench (Single Core + Parallel)

When completed you'll get sent a private report, here's an example: http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2012...vwlr22zS4yz60O

You can share this report however you please, if you're a web host it's a great way to have unbiased benchmarks that you can share in WHT posts (to show off your performance).

We aggegrate up all the stats, so end users can filter & compare plans by performance. Here's an example of VPSes under $7 (i.e. Low End Boxes): http://serverbear.com/compare/lowendbox You can add UnixBench scores or IO scores as a filter.

Disclaimer: Some hosts on our site are affiliated, however this relationship does not impact how we rank results. Everything is ranked by performance scores or your selected criteria.

If you have an feedback on how we could improve the service, we'd love to know. In the meantime, happy benchmarking!
