QuickWeb - Texas DC Urgent Maintenance!

Posted by QuickWeb-Roel, 01-03-2010, 08:50 PM
We would like to inform all customers who are based in our Texas data center that there will be an urgent maintenance that will happen in the next 2 hours and could last up to 24 hours depending on the DC schedule and this is out of our control, we are hoping it to be as short as possible!

All affected customers are already notified and all Texas VPS will not be accessible during the maintenance period, rest assured that all your data remains safe on and off-site via R1Soft however it is always recommended to have your own updated backups at all times.

Our other DC locations California, New Zealand and Germany will not be affected by this maintenance.

We sincerely apologize for this short notice as we were just told by the NOC, If you have questions please don't hesitate to log helpdesk ticket.

Sincerely,

QuickWeb Hosting Solutions Team

Twenty four hours is a long time to be down. This is especially true for an unplanned emergency outage. Can you provide some details. What exactly is happening and what provoked it?

The email announcement said expected downtime to be 2-6 hours.

We are looking at 1-2 hours time frame to be back online, there's just some electrical problems on the cabinets we're in.

We are pleased to announced that we are now back online at Texas and all VPS should be up by now otherwise please feel free to log a support ticket.

We are very sorry for this incident but i'm sure it is for betterment as this will make our upstream provider as strong as possible given they survive this toughest time and I see that they value their business and clients as they worked round the clock to put us back online the soonest, I say it is tremendous effort for them to move all equipments to new Datacentre overnight while keeping all settings intact kudos to them.

regards,
Roel
