1euro-hosting gone?

Posted by tundraliving, 01-07-2010, 06:25 AM
Hi, I recently bought a reseller product from 1euro-hosting.eu
my site started going on and offline yesterday, went totally offline last night and was the same this morning. I went to open a ticket and found that the main site is gone! Anyone heard anything?

I will say while i'm here that I have not been impressed with them. I went to them after seeing a promo here on WHT for a vps offer, then after reading around vps vs reseller here I went for reseller. Their sales page pitched a 10GB package for 5 euro, but once i had bought it i was only give 5GB. I pointed this out to them but they said they had no 10GB package and sent me a link showing their products. This page indeed only had a 5GB package, however it was not directly available from their website. I did a screen grab showing the sales page

When I wrote to them poining this out the didn't respond at all.
I thought well I can moan and look elsewhere or see how things go, since it was still a good deal. However being offline makes it somewhat less of a good deal.

As a final thought I've been lurking around here for years now, but have always found all the info I've needed by reading the posts.

The site doesn't load for me. Can't ping the domain either. So they may be having server issues, but you may have to wait a bit longer to see what's up.

How long has it been down? In terms of hours, you said it went off last night, last night to you and me can be different

Cheers for your reply, good point about the time differences heheh.
ok it started going screwy about 1pm GMT 06 jan. I was working on the site then it was gone, 30 min later it was back. it went on like this till 21:00 GMT then it was gone altogether. I checked again at 00:30 still nowt.

I decided there was no point getting stressed so I went to bed.
at 08:30 GMT I checked again, same result, no site. Time for a support ticket, I went to the main site 1euro-hosting.eu and it to was gone...da dun daaaa, the plot thickens.

I've just checked again now 17:43 GMT and they are still offline.

I don't know what kind of a new life they are going to start with my 5 euros but I didn't think you could get to Rio for that kind of money

I've decided to move on, and have signed up with EZPZhosting.co.uk what a difference a day (and a decent host) makes, these guys are the tops!

They don't load on my end either. Do you have backups of your website by chance?

Posted by s3th, 01-07-2010, 04:20 PM
My VPS does not respond to ping anymore and seems that the real server has been shutted down 23h ago.

1-€-Hosting website was hosted on same ip range and deactivated too (so no more tickets or refunds are possible).

Damn.

I had just moved my site to them that day!, I had previously been with geekstorage.com who I had been very happy with I only moved because I was getting a lot of lag in my sites loading, support wise etc they were very good.

Fortunately yes I have full backups. After having reconfigured the mysql on 1€ I backed up again...twice. In fact I had not long finished downloading the backups when it all went belly up.

having a VPS go south though is no joke, I feel for you buddy.

Now i sent a mail requesting an explanation to email address that i found on my PayPal transaction. I purchased my VPS only 10 days ago so i can't leave all go this way.

From what I know they were with OVH so they maybe had a kimsufi and the contract was up. Its all I can figure for the way it dropped off.

well their name tells me a lot. What you pay is what you get

I think that they have not a Kimsufi but a professional dedicated quad-core server...and the contract was up because physic machine has been shutted down when no mantainance planned.

Sure...but 18€ to have VPS with 1GB of dedicated RAM with a Gigabit port is the right price imho :\

Hi.

I think they may just have closed down the domain with "-" in the title. At least there is something on 1eurohosting.com and 1eurohosting.nl.
Is it them?

I used to host with 1Euro-Hosting. I had a plan which was reasonably cheap during a promotion. I must admit, I wasn't really satisfied with the slow response and service offered. I did face quite unexpected downtimes from them as well as unusual account suspensions. I eventually decided to move out completely due to a "price increase" on a product I was already using and paying for, > 2 months. Which led me to purchasing my own server.

I also had a reseller account at 1€uro-hosting untill two days ago.
I have received SMS and email warning about server failure on
2010-01-06 22:21:02 GMT.
Unfortunately, I could not find out what happened, neither why server was down, or when it will be available.
Due to several times before, with server downtimes during european working hours, I have lost one big client (document hosting), and few small clients. Around 460€ loss.
I have to be fair, and say that customer service was quite ok, every problem was solved ASAP, but those critical server downtimes are just too much for me to handle.
Maybe, one day, if I could get some kind of insurance or real uptime guatrantee, I will use 1euro-hosting services again.

I spoke to the guy over MSN yesterday, he said the motherboard on the server had died, so they have to get a new server. He said it shouldn't take to long to fix, but my sites have been down for over 2 days now!

1euro-hosting.eu is UP again!
I am waiting for owner to contact me soon.

I too have finally received cotact from them. I think since they promote themselves here they could have made their presence known.
They could also have set up a quick information page on a differnt server and changed the dns to point to it.

They should have a backup of customer details so when a catastrophic failure happens they can at least contact their customers.

lets face it there are a number of things they could and should have done to reasure cusomers that they would be back. The way things were there was no way of knowing whether the downtime was permanent or temporary.

Posted by tundraliving, 01-12-2010, 09:21 AM
these guys are just no good, not having had any info from them during the outage and not knowing if they would be back or not, I moved to another host.
I sent in a cancellation ticket today asking for a refund as I'm entitled to in their TOS

here's what happened
----------------------------
I will not be continuing with this product. The recent server downtime left me with no information as to the reason or duration of said downtime. During this downtime I moved my sites to another host, therefor I have no further need for this account.

I therefore claim a refund under your TOS

'to receive a refund of any sort you must be cancelling due to a flaw in 1€ Hosting's services'

Regards

--------------------------------------------

and their reply

========================================

We have sended out emails, like 5 to each customer... CHECK YOUR EMAIL BOX from time to time!

You have been refunded.

Regards,
Adrian

====================================

Is that what they call customer support, if so glad I am no longer with them. I mean things happen ok, some news would have been very usefull (to stop customers jumping ship) but to be down right rude is inexcusable.

a simple 'sorry to see you go apologies for any inconvienience' would have ben good enough.

or even 'we did try to contact all of our customers sorry if for some reason these did not get through to you, sorry etc.'

but no I get shouted at to 'CHECK YOUR EMAIL BOX' he may as well have said 'Listen you F***'n sh** we've got enuff F***'n problems without F****'n customers pi**ing about, so F*** off then.'

from his tone that appears to be what he was thinking.

my reply to this rudeness was
---------------------------------------
Obviously I check my mail, in fact I have it pushed directly to my phone, I have not received ANY correspondence from you, nor did you even enquire as to whether I had received any.
Nor did you post any information on the WHT forums or put up an information page ridirecting the dns to the new server, there were many things you could and should have done if you wanted to keep customers.

If you had actually bothered to check the WHT forums you would have seen that a discussion has been going on there all about you. There have been many people not just me left with no answer to the downtime who also did not receive any correspondence from you.

your arrogant reply here confirms the nature of that discussion.
---------------------------------------------

I'm well clear of this lot, praise be!

Sites were back online 2 days ago, we have compensetated with all customers regarding the downtime.

We are also very sorry that we haven't posted anything here on forum, but this isn't our support forum and we don't check it that often. Altough all customers got NOTIFICATION emails about the issue and the compensate offers.

tundraliving, I'm sorry if you got that kind of feeling im shure he didn't ment it that way. Altough we respect our own TOS and we did refunded all clients who wanted it. You should say atleast thank you
Also I'm very shure you got the notifications emails aswell about the server situation or you should check your spam box etc...

Posted by tundraliving, 01-12-2010, 11:12 AM
No I did not receive ANY notification, nor did several other people who posted here, the only one who does say he got an email was marko79 whereas l0zzie88 found out via MSN.

There is nothing in my spam box either because nothing was sent. The first I heard was the 11th, yesterday. How do you explain that mail getting to me, as well as all the others before the outage. Yet not one email you claim to have sent during the outage got to me, It seems more than a little coincidental.

IF indeed you did send notifications then instead of trying to blame me for not understanding how email works, I DO, you should be trying to figure out why a new customer did not recieve ANY NOTIFICATION and make sure it doesn't happen again, as well as reviewing your entire emergency protocols.

Yet unbeliveably for this lack of communication and rudeness you expect me to say thankyou!
