infinitetech.in down since 8AM EST ?

Posted by mancourt, 03-17-2010, 12:48 PM
Seems like the infinitetech.in server is down. Any updates from InifiteTech?

Posted by Vinayak_Sharma, 03-17-2010, 02:48 PM
Have you tried to contact them through alternate means or whatever communication methods they may have given you.

Posted by mancourt, 03-17-2010, 03:08 PM
Just submitted an email, but Im worried that might be down with the server as well...

Posted by Vinayak_Sharma, 03-17-2010, 03:31 PM
They seems to have multiple MX, so I think your email should go through.

Posted by mancourt, 03-17-2010, 03:35 PM
Great, I'll post back when I hear from them

Looks like Infinite Technologies is off the air.

infinitetech.eu

Been about 16 hours now... including my website.

Anybody else unable to get to the site?

Do you think they've been shutdown?

Posted by Deroba, 03-17-2010, 05:54 PM
Yes it's down for me.

I don't think they have been shutdown, but there is a probability that, as they are on NL, they hosted illegal stuff and they got shutdown.

Posted by camdentown, 03-17-2010, 06:04 PM
I've tried calling the support number and sales number and both go to voicemail. It's not looking good.

Wouldn't they just shutdown the website with the offending content?

Posted by XeHSean, 03-17-2010, 06:14 PM
Do you have a backup of your website? If they are still down after 16 hours and have made no attempts to contact you, you should probably just switch to a different provider

That's very very true, it wouldn't surprise me actually.

Yeah, I've got a backup. I'll start looking for a new VPS hosting provider tonight if they still aren't up by the time I get home from work.

If they are shutdown I'll be pretty disappointed, they could at least have sent an email to their customers before pulling the plug.

Posted by agustan, 03-17-2010, 06:54 PM
The site still can't be accessed here and I tried to Ping it and got replied "Request timed out.". I'm pretty sure their servers/services completely got shutdown or null routed for investigation because of offending/illegal contents.
It's good that you got your backup files (I hope those are legal stuffs you have ), so that you can prepare to move on to other host providers.

You're in a better position than most having a backup of your account. Do update the thread if you find out what happened to them - they could be having some sort of outage as well... I would hate to jump the gun and say they shut down or got taken offline intentionally without knowing any facts about the situation.

It seems this another threads is related

infinitetech.in down

Posted by camdentown, 03-17-2010, 11:01 PM
I've tried calling the support number and the sales number. They both go through to voicemail.

My site has been down for 24 hours now.

Posted by mancourt, 03-17-2010, 11:10 PM
Hmm, not looking good...

Posted by EuropeanIan, 03-18-2010, 12:12 AM
I think they may be gone for good - it's been too long without a word from them

Posted by Vinayak_Sharma, 03-18-2010, 12:28 AM
So two threads now about they are gone.
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=934512

I think mods should merge them.

I've been trying the phone numbers all day, nothing.

I have to say, prior to this incident, I have been very happy with InfiniteTech, very little downtime and pretty quick response times.

I suspect we may have seen the last of them as we are approaching 24 hours without service, so can anyone recommend an alternative host?

Hmm that's not like them to disappear like that. Probably having issues like an outage or something.

Maybe try Pming him or something:

Yeah, I had been as well. I'd only had one unscheduled outage, and they were still bringing out new products as recently as one week ago... webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=932157

It makes no sense.

Posted by EuropeanIan, 03-18-2010, 02:23 AM
I'm guessing here - either there has been some kind of unforeseen disaster over in Holland; there's been a fire; flood; bad storm and power is out???? or, as I hope not, but suspect may be the case, they have been raided/busted for hosting something a little questionable?

This is all speculation on my part, just saying what comes into my head; not factual in anyway.

Still looking for a replacement host, recommendations........

Hey, my site is back, as is the infinitetech.eu website.

My VPS has an uptime of 23 mins.

Can anyone from Infinite Technology want to tell us what happened? Ganesh?

Posted by EuropeanIan, 03-18-2010, 04:39 AM
I can confirm that both infinitetech and my website are both back up, looks like they came online within the last hour

Just received the following email back from Ganesh

"Hello,

This unfortunate problem has occurred when I was traveling (I still am). I have sent my private key of the server to my staff so that they can do whatever is required to restore service right away.

I will update my clients as soon as I'm back in office on Monday (22nd).
Kind Regards,
Ganesh Rao

Now that's a bad sign, what staff is doing there if they don't have access to the servers.

Agreed. What's even more scary is the tech support number seems to go through to Ganesh's voice mail.

So when Ganesh goes on holiday there is no support, and the people that are left don't have the access they need anyway.

Ya, sites are back up... Purchased a year with Leaseweb, and might hang on to it incase this happens again...

So he is the only one that has the key to SSH to the server? Funny.

Also it is so funny that it is the same server that hosts his website and that the so called employees were running around in circles and didn't even give him a call to ask him to fix this.

Trying to seem big is so funny some times...

2 day outage and no mention on the outages page.

I'm the only one to have the access key for the server hosting the helpdesk/client area.

**** happened and 3 of 8 nodes were down at the same time. One of which hosts our website too. Shared/Reseller hosting servers and everything else was uneffected.

My staff did call me promptly on service outage, but my unfortunate circumstances prevented me from sharing access at that time (no connectivity).

You can always email noc@infinitetech.eu to reach the onsite staff's Inbox.

100% service credit has been applied to all effected clients. If you still haven't received yours, please open a ticket.

It's good to see Infinite Tech crediting affected customers.

Ganesh,

Welcome back. Can you tell us why nobody was answering the support phone while you were away?

Yeah, it's been almost 12 hours. My email said it would be over by 1pm CET.

Ganesh: When can we expect to start rebuilding our VMs?

Posted by mancourt, 03-30-2010, 12:09 AM
Ganesh, any updates? This is pretty crazy you haven't sent an update to clients....

Posted by camdentown, 03-30-2010, 06:49 AM
