Posted by PsyHost, 04-09-2010, 04:26 AM
Hello,

Is galaxy-webhost down?
If there are any reps for the company please explain what is happening ASAP & how long until it is fixed. Thanks...

I have my website hosted there so yes it is down.
Everytime I have tried to email them it never seems to get to them and their client area is down also.

It has been down for a while, I posted this thread literally 2 minutes after everything went offline, So it's been about 4ish hours now (I think) Very disappointing that there is no way to contact their Staff.

PsyHost: I am in the same boat as you~
I tried to call them, their number 1-888-850-0244 is "disconnected".
I will PM the user "-Jab-" from this forum.
Weird enough, the outage is not yet detected by WebHostingStuff...

Disconnected customer support number, That can't be a good thing right?

The outage of my site isn't detected by webhostingstuff either, However pingdom's telling the truth.

Oh, I just found this on another WebHostingStuff page:
Quote:
WHEN are outages published?

Outages (downtimes) are published AFTER the outage - when the web host's corporate site comes back online.

We do not publish outages while they are still in progress. If you want to check live outages, you should use an uptime checking tool like Alertra.com.
Hahaha, okay, so it means that once they come back online, the outage will be published soon after ...
Getting back to statistics: 99.99% online time per year means that they can be offline 3.65 days per year~.
Let's just wait~. Maybe we will have a free month if the offline time is long~~.

Keep in mind that it would only be 8 or 9 am where he lives, Providing he is located in the USA like I am lead to believe.

Edit: On a completely unrelated topic, Does anyone know if WHMCS will run off two IP's but a single domain? ie, for redundancy.

Ignore my last question about whmcs

Has anyone heard anything back from Galaxy Web-Host yet?

Posted by PsyHost, 04-09-2010, 10:33 AM
Still Nothing?

Would be great to have some input from the admins/staff of galaxy web-host.
I have added them on msn (msn@galaxy-solutions.org) and have not seen them accept my friend request at all, Another Galaxy Web-Host user told me they were on MSN, but were not responding, whether they were away or not is unsure, But I would really like to know something soon.

6 Hours and counting, This is getting beyond a joke.

WebhostingStuff is as unreliable as Galaxy-Webhost... Outage is not shown~.
I've got no reply to the PM sent to -Jab-.

Posted by -Jab-, 04-10-2010, 09:14 AM
Hello,

We do apologies for the downtime to all our clients. We will be sending out emails of how it happened and how you can receive a compensation. After all we promised all clients 99.9% uptime and we have failed to keep that promise as of yesterday. We do want all our clients to know that we are working as hard as we can to investigate and find out what caused this huge downtime. We do thank you for you're corporation.

Posted by jcn50, 04-10-2010, 10:09 AM
Welcome back -Jab-, thank you for your follow-up.

Posted by hyperenergy, 04-10-2010, 10:24 AM
I would like to say, other than this current downtime, I haven't had any other downtime and I have had nothing but excellent support from Galaxy Webhost. For anyone who sees this thread and thinks its not a good host, think otherwise. They have offered nothing but good things to me thus far.

Wow okay, no wonder i didn't see any page visits, Down again :O unhappy, Very unhappy.

Posted by SBTE, 04-17-2010, 01:08 PM
This company has way too much downtime. I've been a customer for 3-4 months and I've noticed 4-5 long downtimes (couple hours). Not to mention the ones I don't experience.

Posted by PsyHost, 04-17-2010, 01:16 PM
I have been with them for about 4 months i think, this is the second i've noticed, unfortunately it's time to move i think, I gave them the benefit of the doubt last time that it was a one off, but that was all of 8 days ago and we are back in the same situation, This is not looking good for any of us.

Posted by SBTE, 04-17-2010, 07:21 PM
Does anyone have contact with this guy? He never resolves any of these issues when they occur. Every time there is a downtime, it takes hours to come back up.

Posted by SBTE, 04-17-2010, 08:58 PM
Server's are online again. Received an email which stated, "Galaxy-Webhost has been known for it's great downtime during its past 4 years."

Posted by dazzul, 04-19-2010, 05:29 PM
The site was down again and now i got a late fee even though i could not pay, no response to support tickets which used to be instant, and now the payment has gone to Christoph Schmolmueller instead of admin@galaxy-solutions.org, maybe its been sold?

The client area as changed aswell i had 7.99 credit in there. now nothing.

Also he has not been on msn for a long time now.

Posted by SBTE, 04-19-2010, 05:31 PM
I'm waiting for a reply regarding the compensation. It's been 2 days and no response. My bill is due today but I don't feel too safe continuing.

Posted by dazzul, 04-19-2010, 05:38 PM
I had to pay my bill to get my clients sites back up, i had no option. but im sure Jab has sold it, why else would the payments be going to someone else?

Posted by dazzul, 04-19-2010, 05:41 PM
Just a edit
it used to goto admin@galaxy-solutions.org

but now goes to
Name:
Christoph Schmolmueller (The recipient of this payment is Verified)
Email:
paypal@galaxy-webhost.com

Posted by PsyHost, 04-19-2010, 07:44 PM
I was promised a credit after the last downtime, Didnt get any.
Submitted a support ticket after this one requesting credit, 2 days still no reply..

Posted by jcn50, 04-20-2010, 07:24 AM
Just opened a ticket for the compensation, I will keep you updated here.

Posted by SBTE, 04-21-2010, 02:37 PM
I still haven't received any response regarding the compensation. Actually, I was just sent an invoice instead. I am just going to be leaving these guys. Hopefully people do their research and find this thread before signing up with them.

Posted by jj@24khost, 04-22-2010, 09:54 AM
obosor, remember you can use my server if need be.

Posted by jcn50, 04-22-2010, 09:38 PM
I just received a ticket reply (from James), as well as 1 month credit.

Posted by PsyHost, 04-24-2010, 11:34 AM
Has anyone else been experiencing issues lately?
Code:
Number of downtimes

The longest downtime was 16h 21m on 17/04/2010 4:06:33PM and the shortest was 26s on 20/04/2010 10:52:07PM
It has been going up and down all day according to pingdom.

Might have to move really soon...

Posted by dazzul, 04-25-2010, 08:51 AM
Just been speaking to Jab, and all is well, he can confirm that he still owns the company and all is now under control.

Support tickets should now all be answered, and compensation given.
Thanks

Hello guys

I do apologies for the delay for posting here. I won't post allot, but i just want to apologies to our customer for the past week for the downtime we experienced . I will be honest with everyone the downtime was 100% our fault and we hold full responsibility for the issue. If you have submitted a ticket you should receive you're compensation. We want to assure all our customer that we have taken care of the situation and our support is now fully reinstated to our 24/7 we have always provided. Also to all our clients we did not sell the company, the only thing that changed is our private sector is now helping us to provide more support and stability to servers and our customers. If any client is still unhappy with what happened and how we dealt with it or if they have any other question you can just sent me a pm with you're msn, skype, aim, yahoo, gtalk,or email and i will talk to you personally. Once again we want our apologies to all our clients.

Posted by VortexNode-Joshua, 06-11-2010, 10:54 PM
I have no problem with sites being down, just my email server is no longer serving my mail. And I am not getting any responses to my ticket.

Posted by HostPair, 06-12-2010, 03:18 AM
I talked about uptime with galaxy-webhost support. But they are lieying about uptime. Support staff told me they offer 99% uptime gauruntee. If you go their site will see their site they are offering 99.9% uptime gaurantee. Also I talked about march down time support staff told me 1st downtime was 6 hrs and 2nd was 2 hrs. But if you go to webhosting.com, i hope you will see exact downtime.

They are alway leiying their customer.

Posted by VortexNode-Joshua, 06-12-2010, 08:36 PM
I am now trying to get them to return my fee for hosting at a prorated rate, because I purchased 6 months of service from them at the start of my account. At the time they had great reviews and posts here. Then something happened and it went down hill. I filed a ticket for my email being down, 72+ hours with no support reply from Galaxy-Webhost. 1-2 hours after I submitted a ticket for a refund they replied straight away. They need to respond to their clients if they wish to succeed in the web hosting business. I hope they have some common sense and refund my money.
