Vortech Hosting DOWN!

Posted by demiandenker, 04-14-2010, 03:47 PM
Something happened.

All websites are down, including their support site and phone numbers.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

Demian

Yes, we have a few customers there still - this has happened a few times and I have been trying to migrate customers away from there. Last time I thought that they set up a twitter site, but I cannot seem to see one now...

Posted by demiandenker, 04-14-2010, 04:26 PM
It's twitter.com/vortechhosting, but their last tweet was in sept 2009.

I think it's time to migrate too.

Thanks!

I just hope that they are not "down for the count"!

Guys, working on it right now. If you want updates on the fly add me via AIM (danlvortech) Yahoo (danlvortech) MSN (Danlvortech@live.com) . I'll be here until it's up.

Thanks for your reply Dan. It is a relief that someone is communicating about this/ working on it.

Posted by nsdesign, 04-14-2010, 04:55 PM
Any update posted here Dan?

Server is down again

Posted by watermelon8, 04-14-2010, 04:58 PM
It looks like the place to check for updates is at hostoffline dot com (this thing won't let me post a link) click on "general forum" you'll see vortech there at the top, and that thread is being updated.

Posted by porfitron, 04-14-2010, 05:00 PM
Danlvortech, thanks for the update here, but I also vote for the twitter updates, since I could just subscribe and see the status when even the vortechwebhost site is completely down. Being available on IM is admirable, but it would be much more proactive from your end to just provid us with regular status messages (I had to find this page on Google blog search).

Should have an update in the next few minutes. I'll post asap.

Jodohost.com

Posted by mark Allen, 04-14-2010, 05:44 PM
Thanks! I am growing tired of Vortech's seemingly constant problems.

Posted by mark Allen, 04-14-2010, 05:55 PM
Okay, jodohost.com looks pretty good, is there anyone else that I can checkout that is good? Vortech has been down all day...

Guys an Gals I have been in this hosting game for years and with Vortech since 2003. These servers are machines and they breakdown from time to time. I am no more than just a customer at Vortech but I am sure they are doing everything they can to get them and us up and running. Going to another company just means you will be changing host on a regular bases because all of these servers, routers ect.... breakdown.

I was hoping after the problems last year with the hacks to sites etc and the server probs,
We was over this, then now we are offline again,

Im based in the uk and use vortech as they are a lot cheaper than hosts here in the uk,
BUT im seriously looking for a new host for our forum,

Posted by mark Allen, 04-14-2010, 06:03 PM
I have been with Vortech since 2005, but in the last 6 months, I have had a lot of downtime and especially email problems. My clients trust me to manage their sites.

I will not do anything immediately because the work involved in switching hosts is enormous, but my patience is wearing thin.

i have been with them for a while now to,
and have had the odd problem, the main problem was the forum running slow before the hack probs,
after the hacking problem, i think it was either Dan or Josh put us onto another server (two very helpful guys) and things have been spot on for us since october 2009 until this today,
Im not rushing out to find a new host, but if we are going back to long outages again i may have to as companies advertising on the forum will start pulling out again,
and i cant have that happen again,

Long term customer of Vortech since 2002.
In the past 12 months I've lost 6 clients due to Vortech going down and the Hacking. I have trailed PremiumReseller.com which has a future proof control panel and fast servers.
Any one know any other hosting providers?

Posted by demiandenker, 04-14-2010, 06:47 PM
Jodohost has a good service.
I'm planning to move some of my accounts to their servers over the next week.

21 Clients overloading my Blackberry with deja vu of last years problem. LOST 32% of my clients during that disaster now it looks just as fateful.
More honest posts as to whats up and what about redundant colocations of servers VORTECH? Been with you since it was a two man operation. Please advise us

I have been with Vortech for 5 years. In the last months I have already lost an important number of customers due to all the problems we had this last year. A full outage like the one we are having today is not acceptable at all, not on the Internet economy where our customers trusts their web business to us.

reports of being back online from elsewhere, however everything (jncluding all vortech sites) down here in UK.. any official update Dan?

Posted by DanLstability, 04-14-2010, 08:04 PM
I'm not seeing it back up right this second, as far as I know we're still working on it.

Posted by watermelon8, 04-14-2010, 08:10 PM
Looks like vortechsupport.com is back online. Everything else still down as far as I can tell...

Posted by DanLstability, 04-14-2010, 08:47 PM
Yea, sites are slowly coming back up
