Posted by bluedrop, 05-08-2010, 10:24 AM
Who knows?

Posted by net, 05-08-2010, 10:33 AM
Probably they are busy working on it?

Their site is up though.

Posted by Krazy, 05-09-2010, 12:52 AM
Sorry everybody, this is first attack at this site, and support from HE.net was very helpful in identifying and stopping the ddos attack which was originating from China. There was an attack 12hrs ago and now another, the attack has been controlled and we are monitoring the network.

Posted by CNSERVERS, 05-09-2010, 04:01 AM
do not host a client that constantly gets attack like this. some chinese host pirate game servers or game server related website, which can get 10gbps+ attacks.

Posted by Krazy, 05-09-2010, 05:28 AM
meyu, this has been first incident , in case same client attracts ddos again we will drop him.

This was just part of a pattern of errors, the latest episode for me I have described at palma-seo.com/slicebox-net-review-dedicated-server-at-he-net and have terminated my account with them and moved all my sites to a reliable dedicated server provider.

Posted by RnBProject, 11-05-2010, 11:25 AM
Slicebox is just a joke... they provide cheap dedicated options, but their service is cheap too. No customer support at all. Literary NO SUPPORT, NO PHONE NUMBER, NO BUSINESS ADDRESS.
Just now my server is down for 4 hours and no reaction on several tickets I submitted. Deadly silence.
Their KVM access is not working either now, but they charge you for it every month...

I have a strong suspection, that their 'dedicated' servers are in fact not dedicated, but virtual.

Hey, Krazy, maybe you will reply at least here?

Posted by palmaseo, 11-05-2010, 12:42 PM
I wondered the same thing when I first signed up there, as one always should when setting up shop with a hosting provider. I never did have any performance problems with the server, however, when it was running and accessible anyway. But the problems I did have with their service were so serious they have cost me over ten times the monthly rental fee in lost customer revenue. It was the worst hosting choice I have ever made.

Here is my report from pingdom.com for the "uptime" during this past month, which includes all the lost time due to the disaster I described in the page linked-to from my above message. They promise 99.9% uptime. Actual uptime, 94.67% -- and Rama "Krazy" refuses to even refund the 2 months of hosting that I prepaid and definitely will not use, or the months with excessive downtime, or even the days with excessive downtime... I'm sure his business will go bankrupt soon, and surely he will run off with months of prepaid customer revenue and leave all his customers to have their servers shut off by he.net and lose their data... Buyer beware!

Obviously we don't know who you are "rnb" so we cannot help, i don't have ticket open for any request , of KVM which shows non functional

Posted by Krazy, 11-07-2010, 02:57 AM
If we do not respond, the people who read would get bad thoughts so we are responding, we definitely provide affordable pricing on servers but not cheap service, servers are branded supermicro and we do respond to tickets, just because one person has problem like palma who also wrote bad review that would not tarnish our image as we provide service as promised nothing less nothing more. Comparing us with people who run with your money would be the worst accusations with no grounds to prove. We are very serious on our TOS and do not entertain any people who SPAM or illegal content. We provide free dedicated KVM access such that people can manage them easy. Just unfortunate that couple of people writing bad reviews making our company look as bad but reality is we are good company with happy customers.

as told by rnbproject
""I have a strong suspection, that their 'dedicated' servers are in fact not dedicated, but virtual.
""
Wish we could do that, really , we could save $675 on each server that we purchase that is allocated to each customer.

eitherway we just wanted to let people know who might get bad impression that we are serious provider and are running serious business here with serious customer base.

Posted by palmaseo, 11-07-2010, 01:23 PM
Krazy, you claim to be a "serious provider and are running serious business" yet it's not true. If you actually believe this, you have no idea how to properly host servers. You may not have bad intentions, but due to your lack of knowledge and responsibility, you are incompetent at this job. Take a close look at my careful review of the terrible situation you caused in my review, and point out if there is even one inaccuracy. I have had to offer free services to my clients who I had hosted on the machine you took down with next to no notice, and I lost customers on businesses I own hosted on that machine. Take some responsibility, and you might get some respect. However, nobody reading these messages is as unintelligent as you need them to be for you to continue in business abusing your customer base. They will avoid your slicebox hosting like the plague, because they can see from my review and the many other reviews that they are much better off with one of the reliable dedicated server providers, not with an irresponsible one likely to go out of business soon like slicebox.

Posted by Krazy, 11-07-2010, 02:03 PM
We have made our point ,you have a problem that we have denied refund request, obviously we can provide service for what you have paid till the term, but it is your call to cancel the service so refund was denied.

Posted by palmaseo, 11-07-2010, 02:31 PM
Your failure to refund the balance of about $150 or $200 is just a drop in the bucket. The cost to me has been far more than that. Your ongoing failure to recognize this is becoming more and more clear to everyone in the forum, and they will all avoid your servers as they wisely should.

But go ahead if you are obsessed about your prepaid balance question, start a thread and ask, "If in my hosting company I advertise 99.9% uptime guaranteed, then I take down a client's site with very little notice for many hours, should I then refund the remainder of client's prepaid balance if client cancels account to move to a different hosting provider?" Go ahead Krazy, post that as a question in this forum, and see if anyone in this forum believes you are acting responsibly.

Rack 3-XX FMT2 13 50 50 Up 0 184.105.207.XXX 21.83 23.9 99.92

This we have done copy paste from the monitoring server which we are running externally through LA from a VPS through the Cacti software
This shows 99.92 as the availability, average latency of 23.9ms where
dist switch in that rack as 184.105.207.x

this is another copy 99.86% availability

Rack 3-XX FMT2 10 50 50 Up 0 184.105.207.XXX 24.07 29.49 99.86

Posted by palmaseo, 11-08-2010, 01:38 AM
Krazy, are you really so self-centered that you believe your customers care what the uptime is of some arbitrary IP that you have listed? We care about *our websites* and the IPs and servers you had assigned to *us*, not your monitoring IPs. The fact is that you have caused hours and hours of downtime for many of your clients. In my case, the uptime for last month was 95% due to your mismanagement of your responsibilities as a webhost.

Posted by Krazy, 11-08-2010, 02:18 AM
Due to security reasons we cannot provide full IP of our dist switches. We are very sorry that you are out of station in our last maintenance window which effected a lesser part of our network and your server was part of it.

Posted by palmaseo, 11-08-2010, 03:02 AM
Krazy, We don't care about the uptime of your "dist switch". We care about the uptime of *our servers*. You certainly should be very sorry, because you were absolutely irresponsible. An ambiguous maintenance window of 8 hours, with 4 hours of notice, without a definite start time? That's the way that the town highway department can paint their own parking lot, but it's not the way a server hosting company can work with their customers. If it was in fact a "lesser part of your network" you should have consulted personally with all your clients, given them 1 week notice at least to inform their own clients and/or move their sites to another *competitor*, offered them their money back, or **far better yet** not done it at all and let your clients stay with their servers with no downtime. You've destroyed your own business, and what did you get out of it? Next time, don't abuse the people who matter most, your own clients.

Posted by Krazy, 11-08-2010, 03:20 AM
The above uptime is for the switches where the servers are directly connected, which means servers connected to those switches will attain the same uptime.

Posted by palmaseo, 11-08-2010, 03:28 AM
So are you implying that the 8 hours during which neither I nor any of my clients could access our server, this was "uptime"? Boy am I glad I am no longer one of your clients.

Krazy, could you please give me an answer of my thread?
