Server-Logix again: server down, clients area/support unreachable

Posted by Master Bo, 05-10-2010, 08:07 PM
Hello,

As far as I know, there are management changes in Server Logix. I have found that my server at them is again unreachable, only this time clients area and live chat are dead as well. All I have is their general support email address.

If someone could help me to contact Jeffrey Hathaway, I would appreciate that very much.

Thanks.

The management changes shouldn't have affected support and your service surely?

When I last spoke to Jeff (last week), the clients of S-L had been handed over to the data center - Continuum Data Centers. So you may wish to contact them?

Hmm yes I thought that there was a transfer done. I will try to reach Jeff I have his contact info.

2MikeTrike: yes. it's them. LiveChat and Clients area are offline.

2CraigMesser: I believe so. But I was only given Jeff's email address (I have already uncovered it and emailed, waiting for the reaction). No one contacted me about whatever changes are in support/billing addresses

2JSCL: thanks, I'll try to reach Continuum AP.

2Coolraul: thank you in advance!

Note: along with previous downtime, the one I experienced less than a month ago, the whole downtime approaches 36 hours.

I think my next step will be changing providers, as soon as I save all the data left unsaved in the DS. I don't like being treated like this.

Update to the story. The server went back online my yesterday evening. No email from Jeff, no whatever messages from Continuum, server has just appeared out of thin air.

Its uptime counter hasn't been reset - i.e., the server physically is resided exactly at the same place (or I have missed something very important in the technology of moving server across datacenters), and all that happened was connectivity loss.

I assume that my personal email to Jeff could work, even though I got no response. Maybe not - I have no information what happened and how it have been cured. But I have still no information on whom I shall pay when the next payment date comes, where would be clients area to watch my finances/submit support ticket - so far, I am left without any other means of contact and with at least one support ticket requiring attention.

I can't accept day-long downtimes any more and I begin looking for a DS/VDS to move my resources onto. No hints or implications made, let everyone reading the story decide oneself. Sapienti sat.

Thanks to everyone for advice and assistance.

I did make him aware of this thread and since Server-Logix was colocating servers at Continuum a move to Continuum would have meant no move of the server was necessary. I really don't know what happened in your case and I was hoping Jeff would get back to you by now.

Thank you, Tom, I have emailed you.

Update: Tom noticed that his company has nothing to do with the server mentioned and, judging by IP, recommended to contact Wholesale Internet.

At Wholesale they have said me they know nothing about the situation with Server-Logix.

Unless Jeffrey responds by email by 25-th, I have no choice but to abandon that server and switch entirely to a backup server.

A notice: I have never been in such a strange situation.

I will post the final update on or soon after the 25-th of May.

Really so SL is gone completely? Lovely......

I am afraid yes.

I have canceled the subscription and abandoned the DS.

That's great my box is being stored there so if it's gone i'll be really upset.
