my box at hivelocity is down. anyone else is?

here's my ongoing chat with hivelocity support:

Scott: hello

Geraldine: i earlier cannot access my box but after about 15 minutes it went back online.

Geraldine: uptime is still the same so i guess it was a network problem

Geraldine: anyway, i can't access it again.

Geraldine: alertra.com can't access it too.

Geraldine: is there any ongoing network maintenance? if so, how long would it take?

Geraldine: i was on a chat with charlie earlier but i guess he was too busy to respond.

Scott: we are checking on your issue and your server is working fine very soon

Geraldine: i still have putty on my desktop (but it's not moving) and load is just 2.

Geraldine: so, is it network-related?

Geraldine: got one reply from ping now but it timed out again. severe latency issues?

Scott: We are working on your issue and it should be working fine very soon

Geraldine: yes, thank you for working on the issue but please let me know what the issue is so i can tell my irate clients what's going on.

Geraldine: all our phones have been ringing since more than 30 minutes ago.

Scott: we need your coopration

Geraldine: what kind of cooperation do you need from me? i was just asking what the issue could be since you said you were working on the issue.

Scott: please allow us some time so that we can fix the issue

Geraldine: fix what? the issue? for pete's sale! what's the issue? i've asked several times now what the issue is and you can't tell me? is it a secret?

what a douchebag! i hope steve kicks this scott's butt!!!!

my box is still down. ping is intermittent (1 reply against about 20 time outs).

this is the first time someone from support has been this rude to me. we have been their clients for over 4 years now and the support team were usually very courteous and helpful.

okay, box is up now:

top - 05:53:55 up 126 days, 42 min, 1 user, load average: 2.07, 1.06, 0.86

we have received a reply from steve of hivelocity and we are satisfied of the explanation for what happened to our server with them.

it seems there was an upstream network issue which impacted our box's connectivity. the server was never down. it was just unreachable.

anyway, we have other servers with hivelocity and we will remain with them and still recommend hivelocity to our other clients as we have done so in the past.
