Yes, serverpoint / aplushosting is down.

The same thing happened on 6th of June.

Very disappointing, their reliability has declined rapidly over the last couple of months.

When a hosting company cannot even keep it's own website up - it gives me little hope for my own...!

Just got this from Serverpoint:

An unexpected network event occurred earlier today that caused disruption to several areas of our network.

It seems that the BGP table that we receive from our providers got somehow polluted or corrupted with incorrect data, causing our routers to stop routing traffic to some destinations.

After a few phone calls with our providers and a few router reboots, the problem was corrected.

We are now working on 13 different changes that we have come up with to prevent this from happening, including adding an additional non-BGP provider that is inactive at all times and is activated only in case of an emergency.

We greatly apologize for this issue. As you know, ServerPoint's facility is extremely reliable. In fact, over the last 10 years, outages at ServerPoint.com add up to less than 8 hours.

You may see more about common network and power outages at this, and other facilities, at the following URL:

Please rest assure that when outages like this occur, our team starts working on the problem within minutes, and that we are here already trying to resolve the issue.

I sent the following to my customers.

The datacenter we use has had two hours of downtime in 4 days. Obviously they didn't learn anything from the first outage and never found the need to respond to this forum about it. We should have left them at that time but figured it was just an unusual event. Now that another hour outage occured today we have decided to switch datacenters. It may take several minutes for your dns cache to clear and pick up the new servers. We deeply aplogize for our lack of judgement in using this datacenter.

Thanks you.
