ServerBear Passes 1200+ Benchmarks + New Features

Posted by serverbear, 09-16-2012, 08:42 PM
Launched in July, ServerBear provides a free all-in-one benchmarking service for Linux based web servers. I'm pleased to announce that we have passed a total of 1200 benchmarks, which now provides a much richer dataset for comparison.

We've also launched some new features in the last few weeks:
  • IOPS & FIO tests are now standard
  • View all of the public benchmarks reports on the site (we weren't making this data public until recently)
  • Keep your reports private
  • New European locations added to our Network testing script
  • See performance of benchmarks by location/DC.

How We've Been Helping Users

ServerBear provides a new element of transparency in the web hosting industry that hasn't existed until now. Use our script to compare your current plan against a database of 1400+ alternatives (with 1200+ benchmarks).

In the past month alone we've had feedback & praise from 20+ users with poor performance who have taken our benchmark reports to their current host. 50% of those have been moved to a higher performing node, the rest have been offered no help so have used our comparisons to find a better host.

How We've Been Helping Hosts

Many hosts have started embracing our reports & benchmarks to help them not only improve performance for customers, but also to show off their performance when posting offers on forums.

From the data we've seen this has been increasing the uptake of plans by upwards of 100%, users feel more confident with a transparent look inside into the performance of the plan they are signing up for.
