Hi,

Let us know how this ends up!

Best of luck.

I believe the websites and VPSs were all on the same server, so that'd explain why it's all down.

Any advice on going about getting a refund from Google checkout, if need be (and it looks that way)? Someone on LEB said they've done it before for similar situations.

We emailed all customers letting everyone know that we was moving everyone off the servers and our server had a hard drive failure and crashed.

Hmm, that's odd. I emailed them at the gmail address on the dinixhost whois a few hours after it went down and just got a reply that they were "working on restoring it."

I never received an email from them saying they were moving everyone off the servers and that their server had a hard drive failure.

It's odd that they'd be having significant downtime since they said they're using RAID-10. Perhaps a quick reboot to swap the failed drive if they aren't hot-swappable.

It's also odd that there's some other website on my VPS IP address now.

http://174.138.163.211/

My server is running nginx with a simple test page, not cpanel and apache.

I didn't realize I'd gotten an email either. It was in my spam folder from a week ago actually:

BlazeVPS

Dear Valued Customers,

Over the past several months, BlazeVPS has experienced major growth and have outgrown our current platform that we are located in our Phoenix, Arizona location. We have noticed a downgrade in speed on the network and are making upgrades on our end to improve this by purchasing new equipment and migrating all of our existing customers off our Phoenix nodes onto another node.

Over the next couple days, you will notice that your SolusVM link will change as well as your IP address and all new IP address's will be sent out to you within a 24 hour notice so you may update any DNS records.

Migrating all of our clients to a new server will allow us to stop running into issues with the space running out and will allow us to provide our customers with the best network available. In bringing this node up, we will also be bringing up another Chicago node and will start migrating the customers that choose to be in Chicago to that node.

We want thank you for being a BlazeVPS customer and your patience's in this matter.

Thank You,

BlazeVPS Administration Team
This seems like a pile of bull, really. To me it looks like they're just hopping around data centers until they run out. I think I might just request a refund.

OK, I take that part back. I searched through my spam folder and found the same email dated 23 Sep 2010. I didn't receive any further emails with a new IP address, though.

As of a couple hours ago my two BlazeVPS hosts are up and running. I've connected and verified that all is working, and they appear to be on separate physical hosts, as requested.

HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 209715200 (200M) [chemical/x-xyz]
Saving to: `bwtest.xyz'

100%[=====>] 209,715,200 11.1M/s in 21s

2010-10-01 23:56:37 (9.57 MB/s) - `bwtest.xyz' saved [209715200/209715200]

How did you get yours back and running? I didn't get an email or anything with my info. Are they still the same logins and everything?

Posted by thelists, 10-01-2010, 05:04 PM
No -- new IPs. They're probably working through a list re-creating the VPS accounts.

Thanks for your share, really a good news!By the way, do you have any data lost?

Posted by thelists, 10-01-2010, 08:28 PM
Unfortunately yes. One system lost 100% of the data since my last backup.

Posted by bbq2, 10-02-2010, 12:18 AM
Did you have to email him or what? If so, what email address did you use? The site still isn't up....

Posted by badboyx, 10-02-2010, 07:27 AM
i didn't receive anything

Posted by bbq2, 10-08-2010, 04:04 PM
I tried to contact them and they've been unresponsive. Just filed for a refund through Google.

As per their homepage instructions, I got new login details after emailing sales@dinixhost.com with the info they requested. New VPS is located in Seattle at *******.

Are you still with Dinix hosting ?

Posted by sdservers, 03-09-2011, 08:41 PM
I supplied servers to Dinix and he skipped out on me for over 1k so I'm checking to see if anyone has servers hosted with him.

Dinix was sold to ThrustVPS so it's unlikely anyone is still hosted with Dinix directly.

I have dealt with the owner, Timothy Petty, of the so called "Dinix" hosting company trying to get money he owes me since October 2010. He has written me a cold check and been in court for other cold check offenses. I'm taking him to court again.

I have all his contact information: email, phone and address. PM me if you need any of his information.

Hello! Now Thrustvps accept all the customers I think. I register an account on ThrustVPS and tell them I received an annoucement saying I can get a $20 credit, they did this and now I'm fine with Thrustvps

Posted by thelists, 04-05-2011, 01:02 PM
I spoke with them as well. That is fine if you only had a single, low-end VPS with Blaze... you still come out ahead. But if you had multiple higher-end VPS units, you still only get a TOTAL of $20 with Thrustvps, NOT one per VPS.

Not to mention what this would mean for anyone with actual hosted equipment.
