Is any one using them? I have a Reseller account with them and I find this morning that all of my website are down. The company website is down as well.

All contact links with the company are not working. Has any one else got any info about them?

Looks like they did a whoisguard so their information is not public on the whois. You may be out of luck and have to hope they come back online.

...do you at least have backups?

Yes I have a reseller with them also. I have contacted them by personal Email with no response. I would like to have my files back. I noticed you can ping the server and get a good return. No acces to panels or siites. What does that usually mean???

They are at Wiredtree. Myabe Zack could at least give us a hint what is going on here????

I am not going to bother to ask if anyone else is able to reach them because my customers are asking me the same questions. What does it mean when you can ping a web address and get a return but you have no access to any Cpanels or Websites in your account??

Server is at Wiredtree per sitewes.com .. Anybody got any Ideas??

What IP address are you pinging because it looks like their site and both nameservers are all hosted on the same server or VPS and none of them are responding.

sitewes.com 96.30.51.191
ns1 96.30.51.189
ns2 96.30.51.188

Are you pinging something other than those 3 IPs?

It is probably just a local issue with the sitewes server. You probably won't have much luck getting information due to customer privacy. Hopefully it is just a server problem and they are back online shortly.

Looks like it is isolated to their server... .183 pings fine (probably a different server) and from .184 to .191 does not ping but when you get to .192 it does... so it looks like it is the IP's to that server that are down.

These were the nameserver IP's given earlier this month.

ns1 - 96.30.30.228
ns2 - 96.30.30.229

Everything has worked fine untill yesterday or the day before.

Got me stumped.

Then I suggest that you contact Wiredtree, and be nice

Bear in mind that you're not their customer, Sitewes is, so they will be very limited as to what they can say to you because of privacy, but they may at least be able to tell you if the sites are down due to a technical reason with a server or for "some other reason".

If it's the latter, then I hope you have backups.

Seems like they are down. I tried looking through whois information and I was unabele to find any contact information either.

Hope they will be back up.

Also do you have backup of your files?

At this point I am guessing the server may be offline not due to a technical issue.It won't even take a ping this morning. This is sad.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Maybe the only thing you can do here is to wait for them to come online and see if they are responding to your tickets.

I contacted Wiredtree today and they did respond very nicely. They cannot/will do nothing because the server is in the purchasers name. I was kind of hoping maybe "the server is offline, it exploded" or something useful for the other people losing customers.

I had just spent the last 3 days updating several sites and was getting ready to do the back up. The bitch about all of this is lost time and customers!!

I don't have a good feeling about this.

Called wiretree and they were very sympathetic but couldn't really tell me anything.

Their cledus server had problems last month and they put a new raid server online less then a month ago and now this???

Tried contacting by email and phone since thursday with zero reply

Ping shouldn't be used as a primary means for identifying an issue such as this. Hosts sometimes disable ping responses at the firewall level, more of a security by obscurity tactic if you ask me.

Regardless, hope they come back up soon. This is why it is important for the web hosting provider to put their primary domain/billing area on a server that their clients are not on (at the very least I might add). If everything including the host/clients are on the same server, if that server goes down, they have now lost their means of communicating the issue.

Ultimately, you want the hosting provider to have their website on a server by its self, as having their website on a shared server with customers, just isn't the type of host I'd recommend hosting with. Not to mean, if your website is down (can happen with ANY host, and I cannot stress this enough), do you really want your providers to be out as well?

I was looking at the master reseller data base and noticed that some of the upper level may have to register as ns1.yourdomain, the one your account is under, as this may be an config error when tranfered to the new raid server

If the main website went down with the server, its probably a one man operation given the entire business fits on the only server. If the pricing on accounts for sale were too low it may have not been profitable for the owner so he may have decided to not pay the server bill. These are only assumptions but are usually what pans out in the end.

I have a reseller account there and have been pretty satisfied up until about a month ago.

I got an email from Wes that their "cledus" server had a major hard drive problem and they were taking it offline for emergency service. Several hours later they said the problem was more serious than they thought and it was going to take longer then expected to resolve. He said they were putting a brand new raid server online and if we wanted to stay to open a ticket with "raid transfer" as the subject. Over a couple of days all my sites were restored to the new server. This was all about a month ago.

I probably got about a half dozen emails with updates from wes and the client area WAS working through the whole thing...

What I don't get is this... Why go to the trouble of putting a new server online, transfer everyones accounts, restore all the backups, communicate numerous times through the whole process and THEN have the new server and client area go off line 3 weeks later????

If he was going out, why not just do it BEFORE all the effort?

It just doesn't add up to me unless he lost so many clients when the cledus server went offline, he couldn't survive. Even so, I expected better treatment than this!

I agree he couldn't make payments or a profit, so he just shut it down, and any data is lost, this has happened on the last three servers I've been on in the last 6 years

Hi guys, I had the same problem, but just had few customers on cledus, I decided to look for a backup service just in case. Actually I have one I found more than 3 years ago on Ebay and they're great, if someone like more info send me a prv msg and I will provide details. I'm not doing money for references only I got lucky and I know how hard is to find a service to trust on. My actual provider, Harry, respond any time, even at 4 in the morning.. so good!

Cledus is history, for those who want to fill up his email with complaints can go to bgkwes@gmail.com if someone get him let us know.. or probably someone can get the backup from wiredtree. I hate when this things happen, why not to tell us before to shut down? few months ago he was trying to get money in advance to pay hosting. Of course I didn't pay anything outside my monthly payment, but who can keep a server payment charging only $5 to the customers?

I'm on a new host, and went to the change log (bug fixes) and found some major problems, that may have prevented him from restoring from a back up, which meant he would have to enter all account info by hand, with no account info, as well as no email, he may have called it quits.
