New York, NY (October 9, 2012) – Telx®, a leading provider of global interconnectivity, cloud enablement services and datacenter solutions, today announced its Datacenter Connect service, delivering a cost-effective virtual fabric being deployed across Telx’s Cloud Connection Centers (C3). This service extends Telx’s successful model of interconnection within facilities and metros to enable seamless connections between facilities. Datacenter Connect provides flexibility and simplicity that enables clients to rapidly and cost-effectively connect services and applications, and can interoperate with clients’ choice of carrier services.

Datacenter Connect serves as a flexible virtual private solution designed to support applications across Telx’s Cloud Connection Center footprint. As an example, Datacenter Connect allows clients to interconnect with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect or a variety of carrier solutions, thereby enhancing customer efficiency, flexibility, and reliability. Clients now have the option of creating these connections directly from existing Telx C3 locations where they reside or connect.

Datacenter Connect solves previously unaddressed needs and provides a number of advantages for Telx’s clients including:
• Increased speed and simplicity in setting up elastic geographically dispersed applications
• Flexible sub-GigE speeds with month-to-month availability options
• On-demand network connectivity required for proof of concept, short-term connectivity, and progressive market/service expansion
• Private, scalable application connectivity over reliable Carrier Ethernet

“Our services are a perfect fit for a low-bandwidth fabric that allows us to virtualize across a large geography, Telx’s Datacenter Connect is a valuable enabler for our business solutions,” said Dan Dwyer, managing partner, Trading Continuity Services, a leader in the Data Protection and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity industry. “In the past we had to rely upon purchasing high-bandwidth services with long-term service commitments, but this product offers us the flexibility to deploy services to customers for trials and proofs of concept and later migrate them to even larger dedicated carrier services as the relationship grows. Such a flexible service model really helps client adoption of our products.”

“The diversity of today’s applications demands a broad range of connectivity options. Datacenter Connect complements existing carrier options and other services within our portfolio, enabling robust, flexible, cost-effective connectivity for distributed applications across multiple Telx C3 facilities,” said Joe Weinman, senior vice president of cloud services and strategy for Telx. “Ultimately, this provides additional flexibility seamlessly at financially attractive price points.”
