Hostestate down?

Posted by Dusty832, 01-24-2011, 10:42 PM
My VPS is down, ticket #139516.

At first I could get into my panel and tried to boot my VPS and now I can't even get into my panel times out every time.

On their said it says live chat is online but when you click on it the prompt says its offline.

Anyone else having problems?

Posted by VL-Adam, 01-24-2011, 10:44 PM
Did you try opening a support ticket? Try doing that and waiting a bit for a response instead of live chat

They also seem to have a phone number you can contact on their website.

Hi,

Ownership has been transferred to a new company (859compute.com) Company was handed over in good order and all processes in place.

The phone number was disconnected as part of the contract with the company that It was supplied by is that it was non-transferable. The new owners have not updated that.

From what I can see our orignal technical support team is no longer being used so the delays are coming directly from 859compute.com They could be having technical issues.

I wish I could dive in and help though I did not agree to stay on when it was transferred over.

Hope this information is helpful for anyone experiencing problems.

Hostestate has been sold, Completely handed over to a new management team.

Well this new company does not have any positive going on for them right now:

Seen them before, I never take a picture from a couple of reviews, I was satisfied that Joe can handle it and I'm sure there is an understandable reason behind the delayed response in technical support.

I myself running hostestate have had issues where a few tickets out of the 750 or so per month had not been answered timely.

How hard is it for you to stop putting your signature in your posts in other providers threads? It's called signature spam and WHT has no time for it. Please stop doing it and help make WHT a better place not a worse place.. Have a great day.

@knownhost
are you sure this is spam?
that doesn't mean one without signatures can post anywhere

Thats completely up to you, I would really consider checking out the situation via them... I know alot of clients have great deals and it would be sad to see them ditch it in because of this.

fakher - There are rules on WHT which you can talk to them about. Hosting providers aren't supposed to post on threads (and leave their signature advertising their services) about others hosting providers in the outages forum. It applies to other threads too if the post being made is of no use or importance. It's okay to post but removing the signature should be done. Just trying to make WHT a better place and this is one way to keep it clean.

Will all deals made with you carry over with them? Like the new year special that you had?

Also how come we weren't made aware? I will give them a chance, but a heads up would have been nice.

All special offers will continue on as usual. I can't imagine any major changes that will affect customers actual service.

I guess it was only a need to know basis.

Yah sure, I ll saty with them until i start getting into problems.
but at the moment they just removed my main payment method (Money Bookers) and now they are asking me to pay through CC. And i never felt comfortable using my CC over the net

Ok, First off I want to introduce myself; I am Joe Baxter the owner of HOSTESTATE.com now. We have had control of the company for a little over a week now and have noticed a few things going on. The first thing I would like to say is I will not argue on an open forum so if you have issues you would like to talk about please respond in the client portal either at hostestate.com or 859compute.com.

Now to lay rest to a few things. First off there was a coupon that was released by the former owner that did a few things, one was gave all the people that took advantage of it a great deal. I mean WOW most the licenses you got with it was not covered by that cost. Next it over sold the system resources. This is bad for all and looks bad. Why was this done you may ask? Well simply to up the yearly revenue to drive up the selling cost of the company, this is fine they say all is fair in War and Business. Next evidently there was a DDOS attach on the system 1 week prior to the sale and I was not informed until a few days after when a client brought this up.

Now what we are doing to fix these issues:
1) We have our own data centers here in the US. Which is where the current serves are held so not a big change but they are currently held with Limestone which most of us know are not the best.
2) We have been working for the past 1 ½ week to get the new home ready plenty of resources and speed what you are wanting.
3) We have also been working on cleaning all damage due to the ddos attack.

I would like to also ask that if you are unsure about any of this or need any further help please contact me directly. I will also remind you I get thousands of emails a day and if it takes a little bit to get back to you I am sorry.

Also some people have been complaining about the response time. I am also sorry as I have all the best techs working day and night to get the new location prepped for your arrival. We have also discontinued the outsourced support team that was not helping just making things worse.

My email directly is joe@859compute.com please get intouch with us if you need anything also when submitting tickets please be assured that we will get to you it may take us a little bit as all that is going on.

A little info about our company so that you know what we do.

Computer solutions AKA 859compute.com buys hosting companies that are in trouble of either going under or has more then what they can deal with. We take companies that have abusers on the system clean it up and make it a perfect situation again. You will see a lot of negative from a few hosting clients but as for the most part the majority of our clients are happy and they like the service a lot better then what they had prior. It is bumpy at first due to getting abusers and run away scripted under control, but worth the work we put into it. Most of our systems once in place are on cloud, this means that after the change over and abuser of the system only hurts their site or VPS and not any one else’s.

Schedule of events:
February – 2 new servers in place and pre-loaded with all software.
February- 3 stat moving clients one node at a time to new servers. ( with this we will be assigning new ips and redirecting all licenses for you.)
February – 10 complete deadline

...and what do you know about competency in hosting when the reason you sold your company is because you were achieving negative revenue?

Joe is incompetent, and it's a company's responsibility to deal with support tickets. If he can't handle it himself he ought to be hiring support staff.

New Ips received for one of my VPS....some errors in migration, but better than nothing

Posted by build-a-host, 02-20-2011, 03:17 PM
My whole account is down, and has been for hours now! I submitted a ticket about 6 hours ago and still have not had ANYONE respond! I guess they just dont care. So, it's time for me to move!

I called the number on hostestates website, and it doesn;t work. So, I called the number on 859cumpute website, and it goes to a voice mail saying they aren't open on the weekends!

REDICULOUS!!

This joe guy is nothing but problems. My VPS has been down for more than 6 days with no resolution in sight. He keeps telling me they are working on it, waiting for IP's, etc. The best one i have received is the transfer failed and they are waiting for the new transfer to finish, that was 14 hours ago. A 100 meg website should not take 14 hours to transfer. Joe has not done anything to make me even want to stay with his company. I want my data back, thats all i care about.

Posted by build-a-host, 02-23-2011, 12:43 AM
I gave up and left them! I opened a ticket yesterday morning (more than 36 hours ago) asking them to install IonCube Loader on my account but, they have not bothered to reply at all! They are quickly becoming the WORST host on the net! They are most certainly the worst host I have ever used, hands down!

How do they expect to stay in business if they're going to treat their clients like that!?!?!

Posted by build-a-host, 02-23-2011, 04:36 PM
Finally got an answer to my ticket. He said that my VPS was only basic management. Well, that would be fine IF I HAD A VPS WITH THEM! I have a small reseller with them to host a couple small websites. So, he didn't even bother looking at my account, he just tried to pull the basic management cars on me and tried to charge me $25 to fix Ioncube!

These guys are something else! Well, actually I shouldn't say "Guys" as I think it's just Joe that works there!

He did the same thing with me. He started talking about stuff to make it sound like the problem was with me or something. Completely unprofessional. A baby could manage his business better.
