MKHosting (UK) Down....

Posted by Johnno, 03-14-2011, 06:23 AM
I lost connection to my reseller account on hawk.mkhosting.co.uk about 12 hours ago.

Can't log a support ticket as their main site (www.mkhosting.co.uk)is showing what appears to be just a cPanel default directory listing.

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard what is going on there?

Thanks,

Jon

Is your website back online? Do you have a recent backup? I see a current index file listing on the MK website

It gets curiouser and curiouser....

Hyperspin triggered me to check their site as it was showing the server down. I went to their home site, saw their site was 'missing' and hit the panic button.

But on checking afterwards, all my client sites are still up!

It looks like part of the problem is that they have some DNS issues. Missing A records for their server host names caused hyperspin to spit the dummy.

But their own site is definitely broken beyond that, unless their DNS is so munted that it's pointing to an unprepped server.......

So they definitely do have issues, but they may not be affecting reseller clients that run their own NS records.

I've sent emails to admin@ and support@ and a PM through here, in case they are unaware of what has happened...

I stopped using HyperSpin in April 2006
It was just too unreliable and kept reporting downtime, but did not match the server logs

I then tested host-tracker for 4 months, and reset the stats
I then stopped using them in February 2008

Started switching to WebHostingStuff (so that the stats for one year were easier to see) at the end of 2007, and is reasonable
The monthly stats are much easier to read

Pingdom is also very useful and good for monitoring.

Right now I can see for their sites an Index Of with few directories.

We are facing an issue this morning which should be resolved soon.

The current issue should only be affecting a handful of customers, the issue with our own site is unrelated and also due to be resolved soon.

Just to confirm all issues are now resolved.

Glad to hear it ... hope it didn't impact too many clients!
