Ubiquityservers.com down?

Posted by inteltechs, 03-17-2011, 03:59 PM
wonder what is going on?

Posted by Patrick, 03-17-2011, 04:19 PM
Is it just their website or the Chicago network? Their name servers aren't responding which would explain why their website isn't working...

http://www.intodns.com/ubiquityservers.com

Our gear in Texas with them is OK. Strange that they don't have the name servers on separate subnets like they are supposed to...

Just wondering if it is just me or is http://www.ubiquityservers.com/ down? same with ubiquityhosting.com

It seems my MySQL server is down however I can't make a new ticket as their site is not working for me.

Posted by TheHostGenie, 03-17-2011, 04:37 PM
Their main site works for me.

Posted by lolmannz, 03-17-2011, 04:39 PM
Weird, I'm pinging from two different locations and the domain isn't resolving for me.

ping ubiquityservers.com
ping: unknown host ubiquityservers.com

Posted by fraghost, 03-17-2011, 04:54 PM
Working for me as well as my server

Posted by lolmannz, 03-17-2011, 04:56 PM
That's interesting, my web server works and I can SSH into it, but I cannot ping their main site even from my own server hosted by them.

Says it is down also. Could be a routing issue?

Posted by fraghost, 03-17-2011, 04:59 PM
Hmm seems to be down now. Where are u hosted? I'm in Chicago.

Posted by lorph, 03-17-2011, 05:00 PM
Has anyone else here had issues with ubiquityservers having constant downtime and null routing these past few weeks?

This is what the MTR report looked like yesterday before they decided to null route anything behind edge1.chi1.ubiquityservers.com today.

I'm in New Zealand, but I've tried pinging from NZ and Chicago.

Posted by fraghost, 03-17-2011, 05:02 PM
I'm back up, are you?

Posted by lolmannz, 03-17-2011, 05:04 PM
Ohh, yes the main page works now but support.ubiquityservers.com still does not work for me.

Posted by GarrisonHost-John, 03-17-2011, 05:05 PM
Everything looks down to me from here(Comcast Houston).

mainpage down... midwest usa in the nothing state

I finally got through to someone in support and they said they had a router failure in Chicago. While that explains today, what about the near 2 hour outage last night? The packet loss at night (every night) for over the past month.

I was told it was from DDoS attacks on more than one occasion. Was it really the router the entire time?

I can honestly say that "mad as hell" will not describe my current mood right now.

I'm in a similar mood right now, recent down times have lost a lot of business for me. I may look into getting a backup server from another host.

Lost a couple of customers due to this last night -- frustrating !!

That's weird, my dedicated server with them on Chicago network is up.

But I still can't access their site though

Their website is loading perfectly fine, are you able to traceroute?

All the best

Is anyone still having problems?

Anything sitting behind edge1.chi2.ubiquityservers.com seems to be down when I do MTR on the neighboring IPs (174.34.174.15x)

Anything that isn't behind edge1.chi2.ubiquityservers.com seems to be fine...

Posted by lorph, 03-18-2011, 10:25 PM
Seems to have come back up right as I posted that...

Posted by blahrus, 03-18-2011, 10:27 PM
Nothing behind edge1.chi2 should be down. Please submit a ticket or bump the ticket you are having issues with?

I just confirmed ranges within 174.34.174.x are working fine.

Posted by lorph, 03-27-2011, 03:11 PM
It seems that ubiquity is having problems again. 30% packet loss starting at edge1.chi2, and dropping everything within 174.34.174.x

Can you please submit a ticket with details? I am able to ping through on that range and get no loss.

Posted by lorph, 03-27-2011, 03:40 PM
Every time I post here it comes back up. I find it hard to believe you don't have any monitoring solution that detects these outages.

I also cannot submit a ticket because I am using enscloud which hosted me at ubiquity.

Posted by blahrus, 03-27-2011, 03:42 PM
I can assure you that we do have monitoring in place.
