Posted by dexx, 05-10-2011, 07:16 AM
its an attack, as it seems.

Posted by linux2k, 05-10-2011, 07:18 AM
Bellow is the update from TMS via ticket,

There is a large attack coming into our network affecting several of our racks. We are working to block it as soon as possible. The network should return to normal capacity shortly.

Posted by dexx, 05-10-2011, 07:23 AM
yes, we've seen it too. is it colo4 or just TMS?

Posted by TMS - JoseQ, 05-10-2011, 07:29 AM
It didn't seem to be affecting colo4 before, but it seems to be affecting both of us now. Their techs are aware of the issue and are working diligently to correct this as soon as possible.

Posted by dexx, 05-10-2011, 07:32 AM
seems fixed. hope to be stable.

Yes, same problem for me. TMS has been rock solid for me the last couple of years, but this is the third outage in two days for me. Jose has done a great job and I hope he'll get on top of these problems ASAP.

I can't even get to their system to submit a ticket, but it seems they're aware of the problem.

Posted by csgo, 05-10-2011, 07:59 PM
I can get thru now, but really high latency. Looks like it's getting better anyway.

Posted by andryus, 05-10-2011, 08:01 PM
It is unstable , work for minutes and got offline.

Yeah, it's been kind of a mess the last two days due to the DoS attacks. Colo4 needs to remove the intended target from their network, no if's or but's.

Posted by daviolinist12, 05-10-2011, 08:06 PM
Yeah, the last 3 days, both of my servers with TMS have gone down 3 or 4 times along with some extreme packet loss..

Hopefully, the attack that just happened is the last one!

It's probably not. Someone has become a DDoS magnet and so long as they remain on the network the attacks will continue. I'm not too concerned though, it's more of a nuisance than anything else with the high latency and occasional 1-3 minute outages. Colo4 and TMS are good guys and will sort this out eventually.

Shame really that in this day and age even the best providers have a difficult time filtering large DDoS attacks...

Yeah, I had a feeling it was probably something of that sort. I was just hoping for the best

I agree it is a nuisance more than anything, but clients start complaining too, especially the ones that are like "Why did my VPS just go down for 30 secs??"

But yeah, Colo4 and TMS will figure it all out. I don't have any doubt on that.

Another attack happening right now too?

Posted by forumtalk, 05-10-2011, 11:19 PM

Posted by csgo, 05-10-2011, 11:20 PM
It's been up and down for the last several hours.

Posted by linux2k, 05-10-2011, 11:23 PM
Network going up/down again and again.

Posted by daviolinist12, 05-10-2011, 11:25 PM
Does anyone happen to know if the techs are anywhere close to resolving this?

Posted by andryus, 05-10-2011, 11:29 PM
All my server got down , i have no responses from Jose on support tickets , all my 7 servers are offline

Posted by daviolinist12, 05-10-2011, 11:32 PM
Usually Jose is pretty good about responding to tickets..maybe they are just getting a flood of them right now..

Shows how badly this attack really must be.

Posted by andryus, 05-10-2011, 11:33 PM
Problem is nothing work , TMS site is offline too , all service are offline.

Posted by andryus, 05-10-2011, 11:46 PM
All my servers still downs , 7 servers down.

Posted by Matt_B, 05-10-2011, 11:47 PM
It depends on what pipe you're coming in on. above.net is only seeing 20-40% loss while suddenlink is crippled. I'm coming in via level3 and I'm not seeing any issues at all.

As for it being a nuisance, I'm running gameservers , and users aren't going to wait around for the lag to go away, they're going to mark the server as crappy and not come back. It's a major dent every time this happens.

It's like a yoyo for the past 24 hours.

Posted by jackpx, 05-11-2011, 12:10 AM
yes .... down... online...

Posted by Matt_B, 05-11-2011, 12:23 AM
Well, packetloss seems to be taking a break, hopefully permanent.

Posted by andryus, 05-11-2011, 12:23 AM

Same here. It is going down around 2-3 times a day.

3 days only, lucky. This has been happening for the last week and is getting very bad lately.

Yesterday, it was slow, with extreme packet loss for 20 minutes, although it usually happens twice a day for a minute or two.

I hope this problem is solved soon, as I really like this provider and don't want to have to move.
