Hello,

Skype's website is telling it's down for Brazil numbers only. But it doesn't seems so. I thinks Microsoft has not yer purchased SKYPE and we can't blame them for this downtime.

does LulzSec, the hacker group, have anything to do with this? I heard a few stuff here and there about them hacking Sony, Nintendo, FBI and Skype recently. Scary to think about them, I haven't heard of a good hacker group since diditforthelulz...how scary would it be if they decided to come and target us web hosting guys? @_@ think we could take em? Lol

They haven't, to the best of my knowledge, attacked Nintendo nor Skype.

Skype is putting this down to a configuration issue, not an attack.

I don't think it is down for Brazil numbers only, Skype is down here too.

Friends,

Finally, SKYPE is UP. Hurray!

It's online right now for me, and has been for ~2.5 hours. Before that, when I first logged on today, it was down. Outages seem to only be affecting Brazil now.

Well - if you consider, some companies actually take control of the purchased company before the sale "officially" goes through and is announced as such in order to maintain the appearance of business as usual during the transition.

i whas on skype last night (local time) working fine here ... maybe it's because microsoft took over so us skype users have bad luck ok that wasn't funny

i seldom login to Skype unless there is special occasion. I forgot my password at one time and try to retrieve it. Guess what, the button "Change My Password" is not working no matter how many times i clicked it. That's poor programming!

Luckily at last, i managed to recll my password.
