I was unable to access my box for over an hour; their phones had a rather long wait time too. Anyone hear anything from them today?

I can confirm it wasn't just you. I had some connectivity issues on a few softlayer/theplanet servers and it looks like it started around 10:45 CST and lasted for about an hour. Also, ping for me before 10:45 CST was 10-20ms now they are 60-70ms.

Had a chat w/ one of their guys, fyi for anyone who needs it:

At 15:45 UTC 21-June-2011 one of our 10 gig links between Dallas and Houston went down due to an external fiber cut. During this time the backup link between Dallas and Houston was down due to scheduled maintenance. As a result all internal communications between Legacy The Planet Dallas – Houston Datacenters became severed. Though most internet connectivity for customer servers was not disrupted cross city traffic and traffic to a few peers was disrupted. At 16:21 UTC the backup link was brought back into service and the connectivity issues have been mitigated
