Secured Servers Down

Posted by transmit, 06-23-2011, 07:17 PM
Secured Servers appear to be down.

Posted by Steven, 06-23-2011, 07:21 PM
They are not completely down, we are seeing outages/packetloss from some locations only.

I have this reply from SS:

Hello,

We are currently experiencing network issues and will provide any updates as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please be advised we are now 100% back online. If you are still experiencing troubles, please contact our 24/7 NOC staff. While we are still waiting on the official RFO from our network team, I do have a little information as to the cause of this outage.A little while ago, one of our core routers suffered a major supervisor failure, because we run redundant supervisors, the failover was successful, however, because of the size of the routing database, there was a short delay before the redundant system had fully taken the load.As some of you may already know, we are currently in design phase of a massive network overhaul and our customers will be kept up to date as we move into the implementation phase later this year.Your business is important to us and we take events like this seriously, we will of course honor any SLA requests.

Just talked to networking - there were some switches that did not properly fail over, they are working on getting all of them fixed as we speak. Trying to update everyone with the latest information that I have. Please understand that this is not an offical RFO and one will be sent out once everything has been taken care of.

Can you please detail this overhaul you guys are doing?

Posted by smithc, 06-23-2011, 08:16 PM
I cannot go into too many details right now - but the budget has been approved and we are currently in design phase. More information will be coming out soon about it.

looks like down again?

Posted by stablehost, 07-19-2011, 06:10 PM
Yep, it looks like they are completely down this time.

Posted by Eleven2 Hosting, 07-20-2011, 11:34 AM
Any update here on why they keep going down.

The worst part about this is the backend network is also going down...

Posted by contenidosonline, 07-20-2011, 11:39 AM
From me (Argentina) all works fine, any issue.

I haven't noticed any outages here. No packet loss from my pings at the moment. Looks like it wasn't everyone who was affected. Probably just some switches as "smithc" relates.

Posted by stablehost, 07-20-2011, 03:29 PM
The outage was yesterday, not right now.

Posted by Eleven2 Hosting, 07-20-2011, 04:15 PM
And Saturday the backend network was down about 12 hours for myself.

I talked to Jordan today on the phone and he reassured me things are going in the right direction and they appear to be spending the necessary capital on the necessary equipment to ensure their network can grow.
